“Fantastic Place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

The staff are unbelievable, never been to a hotel where ALL the staff look like they are really enjoying their job, so happy and friendly.
On reception Gemma,Gail & Caterina, the Operations Manager Craig and the Reseveration Manager Alex, all present and chatting with the customers.
They have an event Monday - Friday betweem 18-30pm - 19-30pm, wine , beer , nibbles including cheese, pate salad , crisps and some hot food, ALL free of charge. One of the best and most friendly hotels I have ever stayed in. Wish there were more in the UK. Thanks to all for a great stay.

Room Tip: All of the suites are immaculate, you can be totally self sufficient during your stay, 7 mins walk a...

We booked for a 2 night stay - Sunday and Monday. When we arrived the chap behind the counter couldn't be more friendly - he even gave us the choice of any room in the hotel - naturally i asked for the best and he gave us a river view - very nice (603). Rooms are very well equipped and reasonably sized. I would say well designed to get it all in too. Bed was comfortable and Shower was really nice!

Breakfast is well appointed with lots of choice and a relaxed atmosphere - my only criticism would be the 2 wake up calls we received... 1 @ 8.00 on day 1 & 1 @ 7.30 on 2.... neither of which did i order! but we did need to get up! & also the walls are a little paper thin. Every door close you can hear down the corridor....

I would happily stay here again and recommend to friends.

Gemma was one of the friendliest most helpful hotel receptionists I have ever come across. I don't say that lightly because I stay in hotels 3 nights a week usually. All the staff were great. Helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic rooms, sometimes you get a suite. Well equipped kitchens, cool decor. Great prices and excellent lounge for eating your takeaways. Staff bring crockery and cutlery for you or you can eat in your room. They also let you use the den and we have completed a team come dine with me in here, using our kitchens in our rooms. Brilliant place for a stay in Newcastle. Great change from staying in another dreary hotel room. They have got everything just right here.

I use hotels for business so stay in a lot of them. I would like to say that i have been here about 20 times over the past 2 years and it is second to none!!!! Staff are fantastic ( The reception staff are so friendly). Views are amazing over the Tyne with the bridges and ' The Slug' in clear view. If you are coming to Newcastle then make sure you stay here as you wont be disapointed by the location and the fantastic people that work there.

Excellent four night stay in these apartments. Thought it may be noisy over weekend when saw how close to student residences the apartments were but not at all. Didn't hear a thing and we had rooms on the front facing the river/quayside. The complimentary breakfast was amazing - better than many breakfasts we've been charged for. But the outstanding thing about the apartments are the staff. Without exception, every single person was pleasant, willing and quite simply couldn't do enough for us. This was demonstrated even after we left when we found we'd left an item of clothing in the wardrobe. The item was posted out to us and received within 48 hours. The wifi was excellent - quite robust and the kitchen facilities were very good - enough for us to cook a meal for 2 of the 4 nights. Highly recommend staying at Staybridge to anyone who wants somewhere in Newcastle which is comfortable and close to city centre.

On arriving at the hotel I was welcomed by the friendliest receptionists I have ever met. They explained where everything was in the hotel and had accommodated my request of a high floor and a river view. The room was spacious and spotless, with a well equiped kitchen. Breakfast was great with a wide continental choice and a small but high quality of cooked breakfast. The hotel had plenty of parking and was only a 5 minute walk to the quayside and a 15 minute walk to the centre of newcastle. On checking out reception let us keep our car in the car park to save having to find a space in the busy town centre. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: 603 was the top floor and quayside facing

Like all the other reviews, I agree that this is a good hotel. From our arrival to our departure, the staff could not have been more kind and helpful. The room are modern, clean and spacious. There is a small kitchen, a lounge area and a nice big bed. The bathroom had a double walk in shower. We stayed on the 6th floor at the back, so no view, only other buildings and the car park. There is a small shop behind reception stocked with food and other bits and pieces but quite expensive. There is also a coffee / tea station which is open all day where you can help yourself. The breakfast was self service and really good and there was a good choice, hot and cold. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk from the Quayside and then only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Newcastle. The hotel does not have a bar. Like other reviewers, I think the car park should be free.

Room Tip: Top floor at the front
