“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012 via mobile

Stayed for a Saturday night. Very pleasantly surprised at the convenient location for the Quayside and city centre, the quality of our suite (although we didn't use the kitchen) and the service from the staff. Would definetly use this chain again.

I booked this for an overnight for myself and my wife for our 10th wedding anniversary. I cant speak highly enough of the hotel and staff. We arrived early to drop our bags off, and surprisingly were told our room was ready. We were given a bottle of wine for our anniversary which was a nice touch. Our room / appartment was an an upgrade, which was out of this world. I dont think i would have cared if i had to leave the hotel. The hotel doesnt have a proper bar, however the shop is open 24 hrs, selling alcohol etc. The hotel is slightly away from the centre, nearer the quayside, however a short taxi ride does the trick. If i ever go back to newcastle, the staybridge is definately the place to go. Thank you for a lovely time, i just wish we had stayed the 2 nights !!!

Room Tip: Lovely views of the quayside if you get a room at the front of the hotel.

We stayed one night as we were doing the Great North Run. Hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was well equipped and clean with everything you'd need to cook. The bathroom was modern. The complimentary breakfast has a good selection and overall the hotel is in a good location. There is a £8 daily charge for parking which I suppose is consistent with it being in a city centre. I would definitely stay here again.

I would like to thank all the staff for making our stay at the Staybridge very enjoyable. We stayed on the evening prior to The Great North Run, the staff had laid on a pasta party for all the guests staying that weekend which was a really nice surprise. The rooms are all very clean and comfortable, the breakfast eaten prior to the run was of a high standard. Many thanks.

Excellent base for a business stay. Everything you need, unless you need fine evening dining - to be honest, it's quite refreshing to stay somewhere and not have to go to the resturant for a high calorie meal - you can please yourself here - you have your own kitchen(micro, hob, dishwasher, sink etc) and perfect for some extra evening work(if that's your thing when working away). Staff were very good - cannot fault. There's even a gym - small but never crowded.

If fine dining is your thing, then you have a Hotel Du Vin within spitting distance, which I can recommend also.

The only issue with the Staybridge is availability - unless your booking a couple of weeks in advance, you might not get in, however I suppose that just backs up what I've said above.
