My returns to the UK are infrequent but when I am there I seek out the best places for my Sunday lunch. Haslemere is a great town set in the Surrey countryside, harder to find a place more English as is the White Horse which retains the character of the stage coach Inns of years gone by.
Excellent menu and some very good ales, choice this time was the roast pork and trimmings followed by a very tasty crumble and washed down with some very nice cider. Very prompt and friendly service too.
Ambience was excellent though, as indicated by another reviewer, room was quite cold and could have done with a cosy fire in the grate, particularly as this was one of the coldest March days on record!
I will return to sample an evening menu before leaving the UK
