“Long Term Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

I satyed at the Manor house over an 18 month period and always found the staff cheerful and helpful. The room were always well tended to and comfortable. The Spa has all the things you will need when the mood takes you, A swim, suana or the gym. Location is great and peacful but there are plenty of National trust walks nearby.

Room Tip: The hotel were always provided me with room 31 which was fine and felt a bit like coming home.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and it offers excellent value for money in both its location and rooms. Try to get a high room in the rafters at the font overlooking the grounds - very peaceful and a good view.

Also, try to visit the Silent Pool and the village of Shere which are nearby.

Room Tip: High rooms at the front have bags of atmosphere

A group of us work in Guildford on a regular basis and use the Mannor House as a base in the evenings. This has now grown considerably within the group and many more of us enjoy the relaxing environment in the pool and gym facilities after a hard days work. The barstaff are especially welcoming (Dave, Ben & Derek) who always welcome us with a warm smile and freindly banter. the reception team are brilliant and very efficient, especially the night porter who even smiles at stupid o'clock in the morning. The waiting on staff are extremely efficient and the breakfast is a must (it must be the new manager keeping them in order!)... All in all, good value for money, not too far from town, and if you just want a relaxing night in, its all taken care of. take a look, its worth it...

Room Tip: head for 33 & 34... a larger room and out of the way.

We had a great stay at the Manor House Hotel. A good family experience. We enjoyed swimming whilst we were there. The service at the reception desk is always very good. Pleasant and informal. We will definitely come back in the future.

Room Tip: The family room was comfortable.

I took my mum with me for a replaxing spa break. The hotel staff were very friendly and the entrance was clean, bright and welcoming. We went straight to the spa area and was pleasantly surprised at the facilities. Lee behind the desk was excellent, def good customer service skills. We experienced all the facilities and the atmosphere was very relaxed which was how we wanted it. The room was beautiful and spacious enough for 2 people for a 1 night stay. The evening meal at the hotel was excellent food and reasonably priced. All staff made our stay very pleasant. And breakfast had a wide selection of choice. We would def visit the spa again and might even persuade my husband to enjoy a 1 night break with me next time.

We had our wedding reception at this hotel and also staying in their 4 poster bed room. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the spa bath in the bathroom was really nice and relaxing after spending hours on our feet. Also had a couple of meals in the Squires resturant, food was reasonable priced and nice.

The reason for our stay was to celebrate a friends birthday and we had booked for a spa package at the cost of £79 each. This included an overnight stay, the spa facilities with lunch, evening dinner and breakfast.

Where do I begin? We had the most wonderful weekend. The hotel was peaceful, with a lovely atmosphere. Right from the onset the staff couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful . The spa was relaxing and clean. We liked the fact there was a table with refreshments for coffee, juice, even biscuits close by and we found the staff extremely accommodating.
I have found in some hotels the 'rules' a little over imposing but we all felt a sense of freedom, instead of feeling that we were being watched closely. We were even able to wear our robes back to our rooms.
Our rooms were lovely, warm with great views and being girlie girls wanting to shower and dress up we found we had plenty of room. The shower was powerful and the towels were soft and plentiful. There was a huge mirrored dressing table and a full length mirror inside the wardrobe.!!
The food was outstanding, as was the service. We couldn't fault it and enjoyed the meal immensely.

Our initial plan was to go into Guildford for some night life but after our meal, we felt so relaxed that we retired to the front bar instead, content to stay in the hotel. The only negative comments I have to make were, there are no lifts, although we were told immediately that we could have help with our bags.
Also there is very little signal, although Wi Fi is available and free in the bar.
Being someone whose mobile phone is part of my anatomy (sadly) I found this challenging, especially when trying to call my partner. However, reception were very accommodating and they were happy for us to call our loved ones from the hotel phone.
If you want a quiet, peaceful break or as we had a fun, girlie break away, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and the spa deal that I mentioned above.
I too read comments that concerned me beforehand, PLEASE don't let this put you off . A lot of the negative comments I read before our visit were unfounded. I can only assume expectations vary so much in person to person, but what I can say is all 4 of us ladies, who enjoy travel and fine hotels had a fantastic time and we all will definitely return with each of us recommending the Manor Hotel.
