“Nice village pub”

Stayed at nearby st margarets camp site which is a short stroll away. Ate here twice, both times the food and service were very good.food well cooked and presented. Portions are generous.

“Community pub with a great atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2014

We were recommended to eat our evening meal here by the owners of Bawdsey Hall B&B and an excellent choice it was. There's a good menu, ranging from your basic pub grub to some more exotic dishes offered as specials and a number of special offers, including bangers and mash and a drink on Tuesday evenings, and a really nice atmosphere in this community owned and run thatched pub. A range of ales from the wood are available, along with premium lagers and cider on draught.

Our food arrived promptly, was well-cooked and substantial and service was friendly and informative, without being intrusive. Our two specials, drinks and deserts came to around £30, which was pretty good value.

Well worth a visit if you're in the area and we'd certainly go again.

“A most enjoyable pub for good food and ale in a very attractive part of Suffolk.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

Good pub food, excellent friendly service and a stunning building make for a very satisfactory experience after (or before) a brisk walk in this very attractive part of East Anglia.
