“Better late than never!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

I've been meaning to write this since our stay in September. We were visiting relatives in the area and were thrilled to have such a lovely base to go back to. Everything has been said about the breakfast but the hospitality and friendliness is just lovely. We arrived in the most awful rain, after travelling for over 9 hours through terrible traffic. We were just too tired to try to find anywhere to eat so Leah insisted on bringing us some wonderfl chocolate brownies she'd made that afternoon! The room was warm and welcoming and we had a great sleep in the comfy bed! We were so busy that we totally forgot to pick up any cash to pay on the last day but thought we'd be able to use PayPal or card. Of course we should have realised that this wouldn't be a good idea for such a small business! Anyway, we dashed off to get some cash, popped back and gave it to Julian, who was working in the garden. Unfortunately I short-changed him by £5 and didn't realise until we'd set off again. Julian is such a lovely chap, he was really understanding and was happy to wait until we got home, when I sent it on to him. I'm rambling on about all this just as a reminder that cash is needed when you check out. Anyway, we'll definitely stay again - it was a real treat and very very good value!!

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, and can reassure other guests that a cheque or Paypal transaction are equally acceptable as cash! Card machines are prohibitively expensive to rent for a one bedroom establishment, which is why we don't have one.
We hope you will come again, when the weather is a bit better.

We stayed at the Granary over the bank holiday weekend for a wedding that was close by. The whole experience was delightful. The room itself is bright and comfortable and the bed is wonderfully luxurious. The breakfast that comes each morning is a perfect alternative to the usual greasy fry ups you normally get at a B&B. fresh eggs from their own hens, fruit, toast, pastries etc and so much of it we didn't need lunch. The owners make you feel so welcome but are not intrusive in anyway and even though the granary is tucked in the middle of nowhere it seems all the local facilities are within a 10 minute drive. We had a fantastic break away from the hustle and bustle of life and would thoroughly recommend The Granary to anyone that wants to escape to the country with a little bit of luxury thrown in. We will definitely be going back.

Based on other Trip Advisor reviews we chose the Granary as our Suffolk base and we weren't disappointed. From the initial welcome to the final excellent breakfast we were delighted. Our five year old daughter,Emma, was made most welcome, both Leah and Julian, our hosts, went out of their way to engage with her and offer experiences such as collecting eggs - which formed one element of a subsequent sumptuous breakfast. As a base the Granary is within striking distance of the town of Woodbridge, and a good selection of places to eat, The Anchor and Galley in the town and The Dog at Grundisburg. Nearby beaches tend to be shingle but Southwold's delights aren't to far away. One place that was a real find was Orford, 30 mins away. Small and unspoilt with crabbing off the key and river trips. A small number of good places to eat surround the town square within sight of the castle and church.
The Granary provided a truly memorable holiday, many thanks Leah and Julian

Had a great stay on first visit to Suffolk - what a treat to find this B & B. Such a warm welcome from Leah and Julian, breakfast was great - beautiful fresh fruit, eggs, granola, etc. all served so well with lovely little touches. Room extremely comfortable. Woodbridge is a really interesting town with lots to see as well as other places to visit such as Aldeburgh, Sutton Hoo.
The suggestions for dinner at The Dog and The Anchor were good choices. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

What a fantastic experience staying at the Granary - the first time I have had no complaints whatssoever on booking a holiday. Everything was perfect, the location, the accommodation, the service and the food - absolutely A1 - thank you Julian and Leah!

Thanks for taking the trouble to write such kind words. We did enjoy having all three of you to stay, and particularly the finale: a personal serenade by Tommy!

We stayed for 24 hours for a local wedding. Julian and Leah were brilliant at communicating at all stages of the booking process through to the detail of our arrival. The room we stayed in was super-comfy. If you don't love the breakfast then there's something wrong with you. Having stayed at Seckford Hall before (where the wedding was) we thought we'd try something new. If we were coming back again, we would re-book with Julian and Leah without a doubt.

It was an absolutely lovely B&B with very sympathic hosts! The room is separated from the main house, so perfect if you want to come back late or whatever. it's very charming, very comfortable bed. it's in iron so it makes a little noise but nothing alarming. the breakfast is delicious! We suggere that you sell your muesli! For sure, it will be successful!!!!
Thank you again for this great week end in the english countryside!
