We stayed here for one night recently to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday, a group of 7 of us, including one 2 year old. The hotel has something of a peculiar style about it - the reception area and the rooms are very contempary and styled, whereas the bar area and restaurant have a more classic, homely feel - but it all seems to work.

We didn't have dinner in the main restaurant as the have a policy of no children after 7pm, but ate in the bar instead. as bar menu's go, it was a pretty extensive one, and the food was of a very high standard. Breakfast the following morning was equally as good, with a choice of cooked options as we as a cold buffet.

Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay, and this was in no small part due to the very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. We were made to feel very welcome, and wouldn't hesitate to return.

I spent 4 nights at this wonderful hotel. The rooms and baths were clean and spacious, the showers hot, and the staff all very courteous and professional. There is ample, close parking and downtown Newmarket is within easy walking distance.
The restaurant/pub offered a variety of meals at all times of the day and provided a relaxing space to unwind in the evening over a pint. I definitely recommend this hotel and will return again if I get the chance.

Room and bathroom both clean. Bed comfortable.
Feather duvet and pillows, but option to change to synthetic. Probably easier to request this when booking.

The evening meal in the restaurant was very good - reasonable choice for a non-meat eater. Breakfast excellent.
Would be happy to return to the Bedford Lodge. This was a quiet hotel, with no disruption, despite a large function taking place on Saturday night.

Stayed at Bedford Lodge for Valentines weekend (15th Feb - 17 Feb) and stay was comfortable but pricey, even though I had booked via Late rooms. Morning breakfast was really nice, as were the leisure facilities (swimming pool, sauna, solarium and steam room) that were included in the room rate. The room also had Molton Brown toilietries which my fiancee was very impresed with.

The hotel is very central to Newmarket and about a 15 minute drive away from the lovely city of Cambridge (if going use the park and ride just outside the city centre which costs just under £4 for two people).

All in all a nice stay but we have stayed in nicer hotels for less money.
