“Bury's Abbey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

It's unbelievable that these ruins are still here to explore but sad that the abbey was left to ruin under Henry VIII's dissolutions. Still, it's an experience to try and imagine all the history that happened here, including the meeting of the barons who would stand up for rights against King John with the result being the Magna Carta.

This place was very peaceful and magical. We visited on a rainy day and I had a nice time exploring the ruins with my family.

Great location to have tea after looking in and around the shops in Bury! Make sure to see the birds and have some ice cream!
