We stayed on Sunday via Laterooms - excellent room, really comfy bed and range of TV channels.

We didn't eat in the restaurant but it was packed, so obviously very popular with locals.

The location for getting to Bury was excellent and we didn't suffer noise from the road, but we did hear a row by fellow guests!

The only downside was the expensive breakfast - it was tasty but we were offered no fruit juice and it was £10 a head!!! That's extortionate for basically a fry up and some grapefruit.

We would stay there again but eat breakfast elsewhere.

We visited recently for a special occasion and had a wonderful time. The menu was so tempting it was difficult to decide what to order, but that's just one very good reason to come back! We both had a starter and main and it was all very good indeed. We also ordered champagne which came as expected - popped at the table with a smile and kept in an ice bucket. The staff were attentive without being overbearing and everything was served in good time. The price of food seems about right to me, I don't mind paying a little more for good quality, well thought out dishes that make me go "Mmmmmmm"! We hope to visit again soon.

On arrived I was told there was no reservation for me despite my confirmation email. It transpired our friends had already arrived and were seated. We were given menus, ordered drinks and shown the specials board. Our table was a good size but we were situated behind the bar and was very noisy, it sounded like cuttlery being dried and sorted?? The food was OK, but we all found it to be quite heavy (skate and chips, Burgers and the red onion tart). There was a nice atmosphere, we were having a lovely evening until 11pm when all the lights went on and furniture started being moved around us in preperation for lunchtime the next day. This killed the atmosphere and rather than ordering a pudding and another drink we took the hint and left...

We visit the Cadogan on a regular basis and the food is consistently very very good. We feel it's priced right and the quality is always fantastic and we have never had a bad experience with the food. The sunflower and honey bread is to die for - compliments to the chef!! The decor is lovely, modern, fresh and comfortable. The outside area is also very nice. Ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine on a summer afternoon/evening! Perfect! The only reason I can't give an 'excellent' rating is sadly due to the staff. It's not that they are bad, rude or do anything wrong. They did ask several times if everything was ok, which is great (although we didn't have our wine carried to our table)......they are purely functional and you get the impression they have no passion for what they do! Most very rarely smiled and it comes across that this is just a job for many of them. We feel with the pricing of the food it demands and needs a higher level of service. All they need to do is be friendlier and warmer and you'll having a winning combination. The supervisor did explain that there were a lot of new staff. The manager should be in on a Friday and Saturday evening (surely your busiest time) to be training and motivating them! A genuine smile, friendliness and laughter costs nothing but goes a long way in getting it right! Hopefully this will be taken in a constructive way as like I've said previously, the food is faultless. Looking forward to visiting again.

Went here for a spur of the moment dinner and the results could not have been better, The meal was incredible from the "while you wait" to the starter to the main. It is very rare to find a meal where every facet is as good as the others but this restaurant definitely lives up to the reputation it has. Portion sizes were substantial and well-worth the price which was reasonable for the experience. The staff was very accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. The group that owns this property along with the Bury Beer House and the One Bull has done an amazing job with all their locations and I would strongly recommend a trip here. Just wish we had room for dessert!

I stayed here before a wedding at hengrave hall with some users and the groom. The english breakfast we had in the morning was repulsive to look at let alone eat. The contents were swimming in sausage fat and uncooked egg white. otherwise the stay was ok, motel standard rooms, not worth the £80 a night though.
