We had visited the area to do an errand, and asked the chap we'd met to recommend somewhere for Sunday lunch. He pointed us to the Dog and Partridge and we arrived just before 12. I've not had to queue outside a pub waiting for it to open since I was a teenager! The car park was very full and there must have been 30-40 people waiting for the doors to open.
The carvery was amazing - all freshly cooked, the staff were friendly, and we were given lots of meat from the 3 joints on offer (you can go back for veggies as often as you wish).
The choice of vegetables was outstanding - creamed leeks, broccoli in cheese sauce, red cabbage - wow! Absolutely the best carvery we've been to. Only minor suggestion - crispier roast potatoes!
I agree the conservatory is a little cramped , but that's being picky. We could have gone much further and doubt we'd have found better or even as good!
