“Billy Smarts Circus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

I was lucky enough to win a family ticket to the circus courtesy of The Staffs Evening Sentinel. The circus was situated at the very end of the carpark,so there was ample space for parking. The performance we took our girls to was the opening one. From the very start it was brilliant, spectacular acts guaranteed to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.I don't know what the prices were for the tickets but the merchandise, for sale, inside was very expensive.£5 for a plastic mug or a light-up butterfly or whirly thing.Pop corn was £3!!!!!!!!!! and Candy Floss £2/£3. My advise to anyone visiting is to take your own refreshments. However the show itself was very very good. Not like the circus' i remember as a child though. How i loved it when the cages went up for the lions, tigers etc.The only bit which I didn't enjoy was the Clown, just 1 Clown, coming on between the acts but performing in various parts of the ring so you could only watch if he was in front of you.Bring back the slapstick comedy, thats real clowning.Think I prefer the old days, and I'm not that old.Having said all that an excellent performance.

Thank you for your review, and congratulations on winning tickets to Billy Smarts Circus!

We're very glad to hear you had a good time, and enjoyed the performance.

The circus is externally operated and so we will pass on your comments regarding the merchandise and refreshments.

“Expensive but a lovely day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014

Shopping village is great. It's a little on the steep side to get into the gardens themselves, but they are beautiful and well worth the occasional trip!

“Lots to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

I especially enjoy the fact that there are lots of little things to look out for on a winter's walk here, from the two black hens and the multi coloured rhino in the show gardens to all the fairies dotted about! It makes for an interesting walk which together with a stop at the park, easily kept our two year old entertained for a couple of hours. The spring flowers are looking lovely too. Wish there were more parent and child parking spaces though.
