We recently took advantage of a Travelzoo voucher for midweek dining. Welcome was friendly and we were immediately shown to our table. Despite being on a voucher, we experienced exactly the same high level of service and food (thank you).
I started with bruschetta and hubby with stilton filled garlic mushrooms. My starter was good, nothing too exceptional but exactly as you would expect Italian bruschetta to be! Hubby's mushrooms were soon polished off! He said you could tell they were home made.
Main course: I had chicken (tomato, olive sauce), hubby had steak. Hubby's steak was served with an onion, garlic sauce - didn't appreciate this would be tomato based and as he's not a great fan of tomatoes, he didn't enjoy the steak as much due to the generous helping of sauce! Perhaps would have been better if sauce was served on the side. My chicken was nicely cooked and tasty. Also receive side portion of veg and potatoes - good variety and well cooked.
For dessert, it would have been rude for hubby not to try his favourite (Tiramisu!) whilst for me, as I have an intolerance to cows milk, was delighted to see sorbet on the menu! I really enjoyed the blueberry sorbet. Hubby described Tiramisu as 'good', it was light so not too heavy considering we had indulged in 2 previous courses!
Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Marco Marco. It wasn't an outstanding meal, hence the review title of 'nice'. Staff were very friendly and efficient; attentive without being obtrusive.
We will probably return at some point but unlikely for 3 courses (our stomach's wouldn't take it!).
