“Excellent find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Visited the Bleeding Wolf on Friday 9th of August. My wife and I both enjoyed a lovely meal and excellent service from the professional waitress and waiter. The atmosphere is great for such a big pub. Great music, excellent bar choice of lagers and ales, lovely large dining areas, and even though they were busy, there wasn't a long wait for food. We will definitely visit again in the future for the food and for the pleasant manner of the staff.

Thank you for your kind words, we spend a large amount of time and budget on staff training and development as well as generally creating a nice atmosphere, and am always happy to hear comments like yours that show it all pays off.

Kind Regards

“Not what it used to be.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

I called at the pub on Wed. 7th Aug. 2013 at lunch time for a bite to eat with my wife, mum and two relatives. We called twice last year and once earlier this year and was well pleased but on this occasion I was not at all impressed.
The menu has been changed not for the better, less choice,no more jacket potatoes and very little choice for a vegetarian and no cheese sandwiches.
I can understand that big menus are not very economical in this day and age but this menu is far too small. The staff were pleasant, the lady behind the bar was by herself and I had to wait several mins. to be served as someone before us had a rather big order.
Maybe someone else should be available to give her a hand? We also had the wait for the food for quiet a long time to come. I was on the verge of going to ask where it was when it arrived. The food was nicely presented and the standard was also good.
We had come all the way from Stoke for this little trip thinking we would get a similar meal like we have had in the past.I'm afraid we will not be calling again unless the choice on the menu is altered.

Hello and thank you for your review, we are now using trip advisor fully and catching up with older reviews, and it is for this reason that my response is so delayed. As you stated, around the time you visited we had made the decision to run a smaller menu however change this more often, this choice has been well received to the large majority of our customers who like the more regular changes. We have already addressed the issue that you picked up on regarding the jacket potatoes as well as the volume of vegetarian options i.e. the cheese sandwiches. We are also currently working on a new lunchtime special menu that will contain a number of snack items with a twist. Hope you will call in a and try this. As regards to your wait, we now serve approx 1000 diners per week and therefore strongly recommend reservations.

“Will definitely be going back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

We arrived here on a spur of the moment Saturday night out. They managed to find us a seat in the restaurant. The setting was lovely (candles, nice atmosphere etc), the staff were accommodating, friendly and attentive, the menu and the food was perfect and good value for money. We will definitely be returning soon.

“Fantastic choice & service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

This is our second visit on one of our trips to UK and did not disappoint us. The choice of every course is excellent with good service. Looking forward to our visit to UK in October as I am always spoilt for choice for each course. Well done chef(s)

“Traffic Jam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

The M6 was an absolute car park so we left it at junction 15 and happened on this pub. A couple of drinks, beef & ale pie and a crab linguini later we were back on the road. Great food and very good service from friendly and attentive staff.
