“A credit to the Travelodge chain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014

Stayed here last March on a night stop over wth my sister following a day in Alton Towers, the Hotel was lovely the receptionist very friendly and helpful and the room and surrounding corridors etc were cleaning and well kept.

There is not one thing I could fault about the stay - The room was clean, the Bed comfortable and we both had a fantastic nights sleep

Would definitely recommend

...but watch out for the old/uncomfortable bed in room 110, it felt like a very poor quality one that had seen better days!
Nice friendly staff, extra pillows no problem, clean, warm room, big fluffy towels but oh that bed!
Shame really as I would have recommended it for 'The best travelodge' award if I had managed a good nights sleep.

Clean bright modern. Toby Carvery at side which is ok but not great. The harvester is 1.5 miles away and easy to find and park. turn left out of the car park. After 1 mile turn right on the roundabout and the harvester is on the left

Travelodge, that is except the bed!
I loved the setting, the staff were friendly and the room was very pleasant. The only downfall was the bed, it was a very cheap mattress that had that 'roll together' effect and at times dug into me making a restless night for both of us. I got up at 5 am as I couldn't stand it any longer. If the the bed was better I would go as far as to say this was the best travelodge I've stayed in.

This Travelodge is by far the best we've stayed in. Great location, clean, friendly staff, free parking and close to Trentham Gardens and the Canal should you enjoy a quiet walk/bike ride. Stayed here previously and always look for this place first when looking to stay in the Potteries.
Just cant fault it for the money.

Having travelled to The Potteries to visit part of the family, I stayed the first night in this Travelodge. I hired a car so appreciated the free parking, but it was a long way to the centres of Stoke, Newcastle or Hanley so a car is needed preferably, however, there is a Toby pub attached which was lively on a Friday night without causing any noise in the rooms.
Check in was very friendly and efficient and I was given a real key rather than the swipe card so no need to get it reprogrammed if it goes near another card in your wallet. The room hasn't yet been refurbished by Travelodge, and is very dated, and the matress was also very worn. The walls were also quite thin, and it didn't help that there were a very amorous and noisy couple in the adjacent room just as I was dropping off to sleep, and again in the early hours, I'd say their rating of their room will be significantly better than mine!! The bath was clean and comfortable in the morning.
The attached Toby pub also serves breakfast which was sampled and enjoyed. Being in buffet style it meant that I could choose what I wanted, and not have things I don't like on the plate, or make myself look like a fussy eater by asking for things to be added and left out etc. The Toby also has free WIFI so was a handy way to look at my emails before departure.

Booked to stay over as going out with family in the area & didn't want to drive home. Came to check in & they couldn't find my booking. Course hadn't brought booking details! Fortunately Keith (on reception) tracked back through my home address....had booked room in my partners name!!!! Nice big room & eat as much as you like breakfast for £3.99 at Toby next door. What more can you want??? Close enough for a bit of retail therapy at Trentham on Sunday morning too!
