Went to Gentleshaw yesterday after buying it through wowcher, quite a long way out from here but I didn't mind that. Gentleshaw is situated inside a garden centre so if your green fingered then it's doubly good. We arrived to find easy parking within the centre, a short walk through the centre led us to the wildlife centre, before reaching that we encountered a play park with a decent amount of play equipment and picnic benches, equipment for the smaller child with seesaw and ride in cars. there is also a little train that will take you round the the park for a small fee. Anyway... we went into the wildlife centre and we saw turtles, owls, birds of prey, raccoons, primates, lynx, wildcats they even have a bat house! there is an indoor reptile house too.
A nice couple of hours were spent there and we enjoyed a drink and Ice cream in the tearoom adjoining the garden centre.
