“Worth a look”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

This free museum gives a genuine insight into the room sizes and lifestyles from long, long ago. This will be an eye-opener to some, and familiar stuff to others. Displays are standard fare, with plenty of reading material on view. (you may struggle if English isn't your first language)

“Britain's Tallest Timbered framed building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

This is truly a magnificent Tudor building built in 1495 in th middle of Stafford's high street. The original owner must have been very wealthy to have commissioned such a massive construction and the displays in the museum explain superbly how this was accomplished.
The Museum staff were very friendly and in view of the fact that this is another Free attraction one must take one's collective hat off to Staffs Council. The Room with the model of the King is quite moving and the bedroom with the Four Poster and grand fireplace is a wonderful reminder of how similar our lives are today to those living all that time ago.
I was overwhelmed by the preservation and the attention to detail.

Well done

Simon Lyon

“Excellant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

The High House has plenty to keep you occupied. There's a shop, there are local artists displays and they also do lots for the local schools!

A wonderful timber framed building right in the centre of Stafford. Lots of exhibits on different floors - ideal for all the family.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

A very interesting place. The lovely Tudor building is the largest remaining timber framed town house in England, build in 1595. The entrance is free and it's in the middle of the city, so there is no reason to miss it.
