“Gardens for all”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013

Although not a garden lover by nature, Biddulph Grange is different with it's haphazardness and styles. Lovely walks with surprises all over, lake and Chinese garden. Free for NT members so if not a member then join. Gardeners were hard at work planting bulbs when we visited. Nice shop. A pity that there isn't much of the building to visit.

“4 Star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Winter lays most gardens bare. That allows you to see the structure of the garden unadorned by plants. Biddulph Grange Garden retains its fascination if not its colour in Febraury for there are several gardens within gardens. There is a surprise at every climb, turn or vista. The garden sought to be unique introducing in the 1800s new plants from all over the world and creating intriguing pathways. It must be stunning in summer so we plan to return. Very friendly staff with an interesting small shop and tearoom. Anyone with mobility problems would find it very difficult. A garden for all seasons?

“Good Family Day Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

Biddulph Grange is a favourite destination for us on a day out. As National Trust members, entry is free and we can easily spend several hours walkin round the gardens, without even venturing off the beaten track!
The garden has a pond with big hungry fish, a tunnel, a china garden, a woodland walk, a hidden cottage and so much more... We tend to visit during one of the many events, such as the Easter Egg hunt or Scarecrow trail. Today we enjoyed the garden decorated with pumpkins for Hallowe'en before a cup of tea in the tea room. Although they were due to shut at 3.30pm, the staff seemed happy to serve us as they continued to tidy up for the day.
Gardens may not be for everyone, but the small scale of Biddulph Grange and the many delights are sure to bring a smile to your face. Not to be missed!

“Beautiful unusual plants, intruiging garden”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

A lovely set of gardens and pool overlooked by the former Grange hospital, now a magnificent building which I think is converted into luxury apartments in the upper floors. Enormous carp in the pool which love being fed! Lots of little paths and 'secret gardens' and woodland walk, nice at any time of year, but especially when the flowers are all in bloom. China garden and the main pool are the highlights for me.
We are local so also visited for the candle-lit walk and fireworks, which was lovely.
