“Good food at reasonable prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012 via mobile

We selected this cafe after checking the Trip Advisor feedback & were pleased with our experience. The food was tasty & represented value for money. The service was a little slow, but the staff pleasant & smiley. Worth a visit.

Microwaved nastiness! Unpleasant, badly cooked food. Don't waste your money.

“A great place for lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

Andre has been a chef for a long time at a variety of establishments in and around Wells, but he has now settled down in a small cafe, with around 20-25 covers, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A small choice of good reasonably priced wines is available by the glass. The atmosphere is great, the waitress greeting everyone as they came through the door and was attentive through the meal. The whole place exuded friendliness.
My wife and I had lunch of slow cooked pork belly with fresh vegetables. It was cooked by Andre whom we could see him from our table and, to give him my highest accolade, it was honest food as well as tasting great. We followed the meal with a large bowl of the best coffee we have tasted for some time. Incidentally, Andre does a great business with morning coffee and afternoon teas selling slices of cake, which his mother used to bake, but now, are baked by his friends.
Try it!

“proper gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2012

stumbled on this place round the back of main road, went in mid morning, was empty at the time but staff were very welcoming and attentive without being over the top, even the chef said hello! ordered snacks and coffees and watched the world pass by, snack food was so good deceided to come back later for late lunch. Left and was getting busy so booked table for later. Came back after 2.30 for late lunch, again welcomed nicely. asked for recommendation for food (always do! seem to get really nice surprises that way) was recommended Haloumi, which I wo ld never choose myself, but took the plunge. Wow! really surprised, was delicious, my wife had ordered 16 hour slow cooked lamb, unbelievable! We asked how the chef cooked it and tried to do it over the weekend, not even close. Really really good food, not baffled by choices, staff realky helpful and friendly, chef looked like he was very happy there too. Definate recommended place, we'll go back I'm sure!
