“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

This was my 2nd visit to this impressive cathedral & again it did not disappoint. Free entry but they ask for a donation which I am more than happy to give to keep such a beautiful place afloat. There is a £3 charge to take photographs. Highlight is always the clock with the jousting figures- mustn't be missed! Bustling with locals/volunteers doing flower arranging & the general up keep of the cathedral, you get a real sense that this is still a community church, it's a lovely thing to feel a part of!

“Local church on a grand scale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

We visited Wells Cathedral last year with some Italian relatives who were visiting us. They have plenty of beautiful churches back at home but they were very impressed with this one.
You get the feeling as you look around that this is a local church for the Wells and district community but it is also an impressive monument, a record of church history in the area. They have a very good restaurant and book shop.

This cathedral has such unusual architecture, and stunning extensive sculptures, and is set next to the beautiful Bishop's Palace and in the midst of a charming old town.

“A STUNNING CATHEDRAL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

There is no charge to enter the Cathedral but a donation towards the maintenance of this wonderful building is a duty preferably Gift Aided.

The building is fantastic order and there are the usual local people acting as guides and welcoming faces. Taking a tour with one of the guides is essential if you really want to get a feel for the history of the Cathedral.

The cafeteria is upstairs and very welcoming with very good value on offer. A great pot of tea for two and well made cakes can be had for well under £10.00.
