“An amazing experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

I stopped at Wells returning from Taunton to see the magnificent Wells Cathedral that I had been longing to see!

A beautiful little city with an awe-inspiring, magnificent cathedral which leaves you a gasped!
One of the only ones of its kind in the way it is beautifully constructured. The west front is astonishing with the beautiful display of statues and old/new testament experiences.

I would definitely come here again. I think to stay over next time. It is so peaceful and out of the way of the bigger cities! Unlike any other city I have visited!

“Excellent place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

A beautiful place to visit, full of history and in a unique position. The tour which lasts about 1 hour was very good, giving a basic history and the normally unnoticed hidden detail. £6 is suggested for entry, which is an absolute bargain. Nice coffee shop as well.

“Magnificent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

Wells cathedral is special. It is a beautiful cathedral, intimate and a delight to visit. The famous and magnificent scissor arch is in itself worth the visit, but the whole experience is one not to be missed. We were fortunate to arrive just as a conducted tour was about to begin and it was excellent. If you do visit try to ensure you time it to catch the tour as it brings the cathedral to life.

“excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013 via mobile

We did a tour with a wonderful lady guide whose enthusiasm was quite infectious! She manoeuvred us to be at the medieval clock on the hour. What a delight! The cathedral itself is wonderful with a set of 14th century scissor buttresses in the have and beautiful decorations. The oldest cope chest in constant use is there also.
The cafe is clean and well presented, though not quite to the standard of choice we have seen in similar places.

“Beautiful Cathedral”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Beautiful inside and out. We did the tour round with a guide which was the best option as you hear all the most important facts about the Cathedral. A definite must to visit.
