“Fire exit was our room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

Before I tell you all about the bad points I must highlight the good. The food in Brufanis was great, the steak to die for! Also it was in a great location within Wells. I did enjoy my weekend away because of the places I visited such as Bath and Glastonbury Tor. The staff were friendly and fetched me an ice bucket when I needed one. However, the room we stayed in was infact a fire escape! Not only that but it was stuck in the past without a properly working shower! The seat constantly came off the toilet that didn't ever properly flush. I'm glad that this was a groupon deal because I'd never have paid full price for that room.

If the rooms were upgraded then it would be worthy of the 2 stars.

Also be careful with the parking, it can be quite a tight squeeze!

We stayed on a two night Groupon deal but were very disappointed with a dated, tired looking room in an extension out the back of the hotel. One of the light bulbs in the room was out and there was grime in the shower. Over night the temperature outside dropped to near freezing outside and it felt about the same in the room due to gaps between the doors and a small window held shut only by Bluetack! Because of this we slept badly and had to request a portable heater for the second night as all rooms inside the hotel were full. The food was pretty good quality and we enjoyed our time in Wells but I wouldn't pay pay the Groupon to stay here again let alone full price. It might well be that rooms inside the main hotel are much nicer but we were very disappointed.

A two night stay on Groupon at this delightful hotel. Our twin room was very pleasant, cleanliness exceptional. Tea, coffee, biscuits in the room, replenished daily, wi fi in room.Breakfast first class, afternoon tea delightful, three course evening meal superb. All staff more than helpful and very pleasant to chat to.
Right in the centre of the town, parking not an issue as a quiet period, but could be tight at more busy times.
Wells is a really bustling little town and a pleasure to walk around, steeped in history.

Room Tip: Room 3 twin room very good

Two night break in Wells with friends. We had two rooms, both clean and well stocked. One room had a shower problem and we were moved to another room quickly and without fuss. All staff were both friendly and professional. Breakfast was good quality.

We stayed here with a group of friends . Rooms are a little on the small side but the position of the hotel and attentive staff more than made up for this . I would stay here again . The breakfast was buffet style but good quality .

Staff excellent. Didn't sleep from midnight to 4am due to talking from adjacent room coming through paper thin walls. Wouldn't eat in the restaurant again. Over priced for average quality food. Parking very very tight.

We stayed here for one night, arriving mid afternoon to a friendly receptionist, who showed us to our room. The room had tea coffee tray,tv, free wifi, ironing board and iron. But couldnt find the hair dryer. The room was clean but could do with a lick of paint,we were in room 7.The bathroom was clean but felt the grouting round the shower cubicle could of been replaced. The hotel is very well located in the centre of Wells, opposite the cathedral. There is a party room on the same floor as the bedrooms,so when we returned from our evening meal, there was a party infull swing, but was amazed that we couldnt hear the music from our room, not sure about the other rooms. Breakfast was very pleasant help your self buffet. An assortment of cereal, fruit , full English, toast and tea/coffee. Would stay here again but reccomend booking.com,as hotel directly was over priced.
