“Quality and luxury”

We spent the weekend in Glastonbury for our Wedding Anniversary, and had a fantastic stay at the Chalice Hill House. Our room was large, spotlessly clean, and beautifully appointed with a huge bed, fantastic artwork, and a lovely view over the garden. There was a large choice for breakfast, we opted for the full English both days, all the ingredients were top quality, especially the sausages. I would recommend staying here, it is a peaceful, luxurious residence, and our host Fay was very welcoming, made us feel at home immediately. Thanks for a great stay!

Found hidden within its own private gardens, this beautiful Georgian house is a real gem. Fay is a wonderful hostess and nothing was too much trouble. Her black and blue jam is divine. And don't get me started on the chilli jam!! The whole house is beautiful decorated, with many of the painting being Faye's herself. Had booked to stay here due to seeing the photo of the Oak Room, and it is as good as it looks. The house itself is within walking distance of all the Tor, Abbey,Chalice Well and town. Recommend that you book a restaurant as soon as you get there, as they fill quickly. Little tip if you do go up theTor as you come out of the drive turn right up the hill and follow the signs, it's the easier climb!

Stayed in the Oak Room (twin) with my mom for 2 nights, for a little break away exploring Somerset and straight away, as soon as you drive up to the house you go 'ooooo'! It looks quite grand from the outside and when you go inside it is very welcoming, warm and friendly feeling.
It is a home which is much nicer than staying in an standard boring hotel or B&B..... the house itself is simply beautiful, with lots of nooks and crannys and things to look at - the stained glass huge window on the stairs is particulary beautiful, as is the dining room where you have breakfast and can just sit and relax.
Fay greeted us and is very friendly and knowledgable and showed us around and introduced us to Betty, their doggy!
Our bedroom was very comfortable with everything you need...TV, tea/coffee/biscuits/water etc, plenty of storage, the bathroom was lovely with a very big poweful shower (which is always a must for me!) and very nice smelling shower products.
Although we did stay while the weather was terrible, windy and rainy, we still enjoyed ourselves, although it was a pity we couldnt go and walk around the beautiful gardens.....there was a dovecote outside our window which was lovely and we watched the doves flying around!
Breakfast was amazing - a HUGE choice, firstly with fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts, porridge etc, then a selection of cooked breakfasts and toast......the vegetarian breakfast was expecially nice and Fay's homemade marmaland and jams were very tasty - i ended up buying some of the marmalade....
I loved having Betty asleep on my feet during breakfast too....she is a lovely friendly dog who likes a good fuss....very nice if you are missing your own dog like i was!

The House is only 5 minutes walk from Glastonbury high street (leave the car at the house) and a nice place for lunch is Hungry Monkey, which does lots of organic food and wines......the shops are great (if you like crystals and alternative things!).....and for dinner try the 'Who'd a thought it' which is a gastro pub, lovely food and a nice atmosphere - you can walk it or park around the back at a car park.

Overall, the finishing touches and friendliness of Fay and her husband and the other staff who helped at breakfast and the atmosphere of the B&B is wonderful....I would stay there again in a heartbeat - although i may well steal Betty next time!

Well we have just stayed at this wonderful place again the last visit being around 12 months ago - nothing has changed, if anytihng it's better- there's still the same attention to detail, fantastic personal service and highly individual and tasteful furnishings - great comfy new bed in the room we stayed in and a very peaceful time had by one and all - just the same teensy weensy quirk re the very small portable TV, a flat scren would be much better, very well recommended

I stayed in Chalice Hill House during an "adventure" trip with my 2 sons. Let me think if there is something negative to say....hmm...NO. I would even say that this place on its own was already worth the travel from germany.
/cheers
Rainer

My husband and I stayed at Chalice Hill House on the first night of our honeymoon, breaking up the long journey to Cornwall. Chalice Hill is a beautiful house and Fay has maintained it superbly. The house is clean, comfortable, warm and inviting, and the room was beautiful. Little touches like the aromatherapy toiletries in the bathroom made it all a bit more special.
Chalice Hill House is ideally situated, within easy walking distance of the Tor, Chalice Well, and Town Centre. Fay was a wonderful host, friendly and welcoming but not too imposing. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit, freshly ground coffee and tasty local produce in the Full English. I can recommend Fay's chilli jam!
The garden is a wonderful peaceful oasis, with a dovecote and a swing under a beautiful willow tree. There is a gate which leads onto Chalice Hill and over to the Tor - I didn't get chance to explore further afield but wish I had!
All in all, I can highly recommend Chalice Hill House, whether you are there for the 'Glastonbury experience' or just a relaxing break. Thank you Fay!

My sister and I were looking for a peaceful short break from the city and we found it. Chalice Hill House is conveniently located not far from the top of the high street. We stayed in the Oak Room which was large with two big beds, large wardrobe and had a lovely selection of teas and dainty teacups which was such a nice touch. The bathroom was quite nice and the bath products were heavenly. The views of the garden and countryside from the room were breathtaking. It was perfect for resting and relaxing and was wonderful to come back to after a day of exploring.

Fay (the owner) and Marion were really lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. It was overall just a wonderful place to stay and I am hoping to visit again but this time, I'm going to stay longer!
