“What you would expect from Premier Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013 via mobile

This is a well run premier inn, and is just what you expect from them. A nice clean and moden budget hotel. Staff were very freindly and could not do enough for you. There was only one thing that wrecked our stay, we had booked the meal deal for the Brewer Fayre next door, do not do this. It is the worst restaurant that I have ever been in! Food is very poor and the service is even worst!

Stayed one night as stopover on the way from the North down to Cornwall. Paid £29 for the room which was superb value for the time of year and a Friday night at that. Nice and new and spotlessly clean, it had everything you expect from the brand, if you're familiar with it. Good aircon in the room meant the four of us slept very well despite the excessive heat on that day. Family room was adequately sized though not huge. It was ground floor facing the road but very well noise insulated. Second child bed rather rock-like, as is always the case at Premier Inn; it's something they really should improve. The other beds were very comfy so why can't they just provide a similar quality mattress for a second child?
Breakfast was buffet style and at times there was a wait for some items to be replenished. It wasn't bad enough to complain about, though, and the food was very nice. Ate in the restaurant in the evening, and was a bit nonplussed that they didn't have our table reservation despite me using the text-back service to book it AND asking the check-in staff member to double check the booking had been made; however we were accommodated quickly and without fuss as they weren't too busy. It might have been different on a very busy night though so this is a little worrying. Food was fine and service was good.
Other than the niggles mentioned, it was a good stay and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road have a view of the Tor and aren't unduly noisy unless you are a very light...

The hotel looked brilliant from the outside, and even the reception was modern and nicely presented - the vintage design on the outside was actually very refreshing. However we quickly learned that the Blonde Haired Young Boy on reception wasn't going to be any help. When something got stuck he told my Pregnant Girlfriend to get a boost on top of the machine to turn the switch off. Not happy, will not be returning to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ring up and find out when the Blonde Kid isn't working, that will make your stay much more enjoy...

Very modern, clean and helpful staff who couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was excellent, but at £8 is steep, but the same for all travel inns, however quality was excellent. Restaurant was buffet style, with themed night. Food was ok

This new Premier Inn is indistinguishable from all the others - and that is meant in a complimentary way. With this brand you know what to expect and that is important. Noone goes on holiday to a Premier Inn - they are intended for a one night stay on your way somewhere and they don't disappoint. This is a brand new building in a somewhat unprepossessing trading estate but it doesn't really matter. It is handily placed and has plenty of free parking which is a lot easier than a town centre usually. As always it has an adjacent restaurant - in this case a Brewers Fayre. Both hotel and restaurant were absolutely full and sadly our meal, although again of the standard you would expect was a ridiculously long time coming - over 40 minute before even a drink and we were asked to order our drinks at the table! They were seriously understaffed and many items on the menu were unavailable. After several complaints we were eventually fed. The manager was very apologetic and dealt with our complaint efficiently and gave us a generous discount. Sadly at breakfast they had run out of things again! We will put it down to teething problems at a new establishment and give them the benefit of the doubt!

Excellent hotel, went out of their way to be helpful. Service was great, beds and rooms comfy and clean. First visit to a Premier and most impressed.
Great air conditioning and soundproofing, no noise despite being on main road.

This Premier Inn basically does what it says. The promise of a comfortable room is met.

I do find soap dispensers rather than actual soap a little lack lustre in a room costing over £100 (Friday or Saturday in July). However, otherwise the standard of the room and its cleanliness are without fault.

The attached bar/restaurant (Brewers Fayre) was a little too much canteen style. I didn't find it comfortable to go and have a pint (they had 2 real beers on tap). However, the town centre is only 15 minutes walk where you will find a decent range of restaurants and bars.

Room Tip: Avoid lower floors as you will hear those who are heavy footed upstairs.
