“The top of our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

When we arrived in Glastonbury and saw the Tor from the road, we thougth it´s was very high to climb. My sister and I were not young or very prepared phisically.
But Debbie from Magdalene house said there was a easier walk to go there, a litte bus took us to the medium back, from there the slope was not so steep and the view is amazing.
We climbed to the Tor and didn´t get tired.
I think there is a good energy there, the air is very clean, and after stayed a lot there we took the longer way to go down and this way finished at the entrance of Chalice Well.
I love very much to visit Glastonbury, and mainly to go to the Tor.

“Lovely walk, Stunning views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

We visited Glastonbury Tor in May and it coincided with beautiful weather. On arriving in the town we were at first dismayed and thought we would find I very hard to get parked.we shouldn't have worried as we happened upon the National Trust's Rural Life Museum which not only offers free parking in their spacious car park to visitors but also to those visiting the Tor. This was a real bonus and within minutes we were on the footpath an heading up to the Tor itself. The path is steep in parts but still easily manageable and there are a couple of benches if you need a short breather on the way up. There are plenty of opportunities to take stunning photos both on the way up and at the top where the views are magnificent and well worth the effort. It was quite busy when we visited (mid afternoon) and we would love to visit again very early in the day, at sunrise or shortly after when we have no doubt it would be a more spiritual and serene experience. When you've returned from your walk we recommend the cafe at the National Trust museum for a cool drink or ice cream both as a treat and as a way of saying thanks for them providing a free car park when they so easily could have charged a pretty significant sum for the privilege.

“FANTASTIC VIEWS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

two toutes up to the top of the tor from chickwell street is a long climb up to the top, couple of reting places to take a breather.off wellhouse lane is a shorter steeper climb.at the top are views over several counties, take few minits to take in the spiritual nature of this monument,
close your eyes let your senses take in the vibes, you cant go to glastobury without visiting the tor,you can park in the museum of rural life for free and save a few shillings and its only a few minits walk into town, if you visit on tuesday there is a market in magdalene street, bread, fish ,meat, goth style clothing on sale.town is worth a visit ,fantastic day out.
plenty of cafes, pubs, chip shop for food, and if you want to have a shopping experience, only a few minits drive to clarks village in street

“Soul-Satisfying”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

Climbing Glastonbury Tor is not for everyone. I've heard someone else call it a hard climb for just a pretty view. But it becomes a powerful spiritual exercise for Christians and Pagans alike (and how many locales can offer that? Important to me, in a mixed-religion marriage) as well as for persons of any persuasion interested in fairies or archaeology. The winds can sometimes blow hard, so be careful--at times it repeatedly blew my cane off the path! For Americans, either wear to the airport the shoes you wore on the Tor, or pack them somewhere easy to unpack, because it doubles as a sheep pasture, andCcustoms will want to disinfect your soles.
