“Meditation energy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

The centre for me is special because of the energy when you close your eyes and meditate in the quiet areas. There are lots of nooks and crannies to tuck yourself away in. Also a well stocked shop with lots of books.

“a healing sanctuary, at any time of year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

This is a special healing place, a sanctuary at any time of year. The energy is I am sure due to the love and care that both the guardians and members have poured into this special place over the years. The parking it is true can be a problem, but there are facilities for the disabled available, and it is not that far to walk from the town for anyone who is reasonably fit.

The gardens themselves are beautiful at any time of year, for sitting in quiet contemplation or simply watching the birds as they go about their daily lives, so unemcumbered with the troubles of modern life. The gardens offer a short but well earned respite from the day to day grind, with so many corners to explore - the well head itself, the healing pool, the meadow, which is wonderful if you stay at the retreat house for sitting on moonlit nights. There is always something going on here, yet you can always find a quiet corner to just hide away in complete solitude, this is perhaps the gardens greatest gift - the ability to completely immerse yourself in nature, and the present moment, which is of course all that we have.
