“Private Peaceful and Friendly Adults only touring park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Situated near the Tor close to Gog and Magog.a very quiet and peaceful place with plenty of walking.paths and a fishing lake. A nice stroll uphill to the Tor if you like or just admire the view over the Somerset Levels. The new toilet block outstrips any 5* hotel that we have stayed at. Outstanding manicured grounds, friendly and helpful staff, a credit to the owners. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Booking in after 1.00PM and can recommend their fresh home made cakes.

We have visited Old Oaks for the last 7 years, at least twice and often three or four times a year. The new amenities block, showers, toilets, laundry and washing up area ought to be on television, it is the best of all the sites we visit. There is a super enclosed dog excercise area and enough walks to satisfy the most intrepid walker. Use this as a centre to explore the Somerset Levels or just chill out and do nothing.
Staff and shoop just great.

We have just returned from the Old Oaks after spending 3 nights there in two tents. It was a very positive experience from the friendly and helpful wardens, one of which showed us to our pitch on a bike, the size of the pitch, the upkeep of the grounds but for me the icing on the cake was the immaculate shower and toilet facilities. Although the toilet block near the tent pitches was more than adequate, I chose to use the new block with the separate 5 star shower rooms with a sink and toilet, it was worth the extra walk for the little bit of luxury! The toilet area has a hair dryer and plugs for straighteners which meant I was able to spend the weekend frizz free!

The site is in a very good position just a 30/40 minute walk from Glastonbury and there is a minibus service running daily to various places and on a Saturday night to a local hostelry should you not wish to drive. They also have a special rate with a local taxi service which we used to ferry us to and from Glastonbury on Sunday evening.

The shop on site was very handy and the tourist information/ meeting room had lots of stuff on walking and places to visit. It also had a pool table, tv and settee should you wish to use it.

All in all a very pleasant stay on one of the best campsites I have ever stayed at and we are already planning on returning.

Recently returned from 'The Old Oaks', what can I say apart from perfect. The shop on site sold most things and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The site was immaculate, well looked after in every way, the pitches were a good size and well planned out so you didnt feel claustrophobic and the 'adult only' aspect was very appealing, no screaming kids just peace and quiet. Toilets and showers were to a very high standard and always clean. They provide excellent facilities for your dog, I played with my little yorkie in the exercise area which is all fenced off so no way of escape, she had a great time, there is also a dog washing area at the side with hot water if they get a bit muddy, brilliant. Will definately be going back, a well deserved congratulations to all the staff.

Have just stayed for a four day beak, what an excellant site, the new shower/toilet block is the best we've ever used, peaceful, very spacious, extremely well kept - a great getaway. Site staff were very friendly and helpful, we tried some of the home produced steak - fantastic flavour. We have already booked again for November, before the site closes for the Winter.

Recently returned from a 2 week stay here, and without question is the best caravan site we've ever stayed at.
Friendly and efficient greeting on arrival. Pitches are a good size, not like other sites we have stayed at where they "Cram 'em in" to maximise profits.
Well stocked shop in reception selling all the essentials. Carp fishing on site. Bike Hire......the list goes on and on.
But I've saved the best until last.
I have read elsewhere that someone compared the Toilet/Shower block to a 5 star hotel. I can concur that it is really is that spectacular!
Unfortunately left a day early due to severe weather warnings for our scheduled day of departure, but will definitely return soon.

Having just spent 5 nights at a family campsite in Devon, to arrive at the Old Oaks 'adults only' site was sheer bliss!!

No kids screaming, shouting and running up and down on their scooters just a metre or so from our tent, plenty of room on the super pitch we booked located on Lower Oaks, a large open grassy area right in front of us, lovely peace and quiet, what more could anyone ask for!

The new WC and shower facilities were fantastic, a mix of ladies only, gents only and at least 6 or so unisex cubicles with everything you need, it was a real pleasure whenever you went in there. The site also had a nice little shop that catered for most things and the reception staff and wardens were very friendly and helpful.

The site itself is within walking distance of Glastonbury and Glastonbury Tor and within a short drive of Wells, the Clarks Shoe factory in Street etc.

The Old Oaks really sets the bar for all others to follow and we'll definitely be back next year in our Outwell Montana 6P tent, brilliant!!

Congratulations to all the staff!
