Back home from spending a fab 4 nights in a 3 bed Cheddar Lodge last week! I traveled with my mother, 8 year old son and 14 year old niece. All had a great time on this wonderful park.
Everything on this park is of excellent standard (we had lodge #61) - On entering our lodge, all of us were flabbergast at the decor and space of the lounge and the more we investigated, the better it got. Yep - these are not wood lodges, but to be honest, that was not a concern.
The lounge/kitchen/diner was huge! Two large sofas, flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen (Beautiful), six seat dining table, oh and a large walk in cupboard housing a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board and a quality hoover! The twin room was a very good size, it had full size single beds with lovely bedding, flat screen TV, walk in wardrobe and bedside cabinet between beds. Across the passage was a large bathroom - very modern, full size bath, built in basin and loo. Towels were so very thick and great quality.
The double bedroom was large with walk through wardrobe to the on-suite shower room (double size shower - great power). My mum was made up with this room!
There were extra touches like i-pod docks, board games, chargers etc. We had a couple of minor issues - the last visitors had snapped a plug in the socket but the maintenance guys were amazing - happy, friendly and very professional.
The reception/front office team were great and special thanks to Bartek who was lovely, very helpful and knew his stuff!
The kids had regular swims in the pool (it does have a spongy bottom) and took part in several activities including Archery, Fencing, Snorkeling with this water jet thing and Body Zorbing (hilarious). The activities were around £10 - £12 each and the each session was around 1 1/2 hours so well worth the money! We got massive thumbs up from both kids, the youngest of which now wants to make a career out of them all! The Go Active team members were absolutely fab - enthusiastic, patient, funny and likeable! They are on the go all day - so hats off to them!
We spent our evenings in our lodge so cannot form opinions on the evening or restaurant but the areas were of a very good quality.
To sum up, we had a fab time, you are right near Cheddar Gorge, and about an hour from Longleat. We will go back at some point (quite possibly this year). The best accommodation I have stayed in, I would give it 5*.
