My husband and I ate here last night. We had the Valentines Day chef tasting menu which was a series of 8 courses with a Valentine theme. The restaurant does a similar tasting menu as part of its regular menu. We were greeted in the car park, shown where to park and were then directed to the beautiful drawing room for a welcome cocktail. The art work on display in the drawing room and library are well worth a browse. As we looked over the menu and extensive wine list (aided by a very knowledgable sommelier) we ate the canapés served. This was the first sign that we were in for a special evening. Absolutely delicious! We were later led through to the restaurant and began our lovely meal. Every course, from the canapés to the petit fours was stunning. This restaurant is very well deserving of its Michelin star. The service is formal, the restaurant is fairly quiet...but this is fine dining, I'm sure that some people were too enamoured by the food to speak. It certainly didn't make us feel uncomfortable. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends visiting Bath. Excellent.
