If you enjoy South Asian food, but are a bit weary of the usual suspects on every menu, try a meal here. In a roomy and comfortable basement (mind the steps on the way down) decorated with assorted Nepalese items, they offer a wide range of dishes, and experimentation with the unfamiliar pays off. Among the highlights or our meal were a starter of pork momos (dumplings with shredded meat a little like dim sum) served with a gorgeous dipping sauce of coriander, mint & chili, their restaurant special beef (tender and subtly spiced), and an amazing butery dhal of black lentils, which was memorably smooth and succulent. It was a real treat, with lots of distinctive flavour combinations, plenty of tamarind and sesame for example. Portions seem small at first, but the food is richly filling. The staff were helpful and pleasant . A great place to try something different.
