First tried this restaurant when we went to see a show in the West End in London. Delighted to learn they had a place in Bath that was quite central as we came from Devizes by bus. Just had to go and see how this one compared. The décor was a bit shabby compared to what we saw in London but that does not take away from the quality of the food. The Cullen Skink on the set price menu is the BEST I`ve ever tasted and that comes from a native Scot. Also had the smoked salmon fishcake but being someone who doesn`t like spicy or hot food I found the dressing a tad on the hot side. You could definitely taste the chilli. However, all credit to the waitress, Kirstie, as soon as she learnt of this she took it away immediately and got it freshly done, without the chilli dressing. I really appreciated her doing this so promptly and without feeling that any fuss was being made on my part. Definitely better without the chilli dressing. It was a shame however that they made me (didn`t take much), ha ha, have the Belgian chocolate torte. It was a sacrifice to eat it but well those sacrifices have to be made. Just because I had a problem with the chilli sauce it would not stop me from going back. In fact I can`t wait. Go early though as they get packed out and you may have to wait otherwise. Even the young man who came to take payment was very polite and personable. All the staff were a credit to Loch Fyne and couldn`t help but think it would be great if all restaurants had staff this good.
