Had dinner in Loch Fyne on Friday evening with my boyfriend.
The restaurant is lovely - really high ceilings with an open kitchen and a relaxed atmosphere.
We started with some bread and olives with our drinks which were lovely and complimented my prosecco perfectly!
We shared moules marinieres, tempura squid and chilli prawns to start. The mussels were incredible- the sauce they were served in was so tasty and full of flavour. The prawns were succulent with a lovely chilli kick and I really enjoyed the Asian twist on the squid.
For our main course, we both had the "fish your way" option. You get to choose your fish, how it's cooked, a sauce and 2 side orders. I had pan fried bream with salsa verde, twice cooked chips and broccoli. My boyfriend had pan fried hake with the pesto sauce, sautéed potatoes and samphire. I really enjoyed my dish. The fish was cooked beautifully with a crispy skin and the chips were amazing! My boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his. I loved the pesto sauce he had and will definitely have that next time I go.
After all this I couldn't fit in dessert but my boyfriend has a gorgeous creme brûlée which I'd definitely recommend.
We had such a nice evening. The staff were lovely and Matt, the manager, really looked after us.
I've already booked dinner in my local Loch Fyne restaurant for my birthday next month! Definitely recommend a visit.
