“A Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Went to this pub on the first night of our holiday and whilst it looks pretty plain on the outside it is fantastic on the inside.

Out of 4 meals the food was outstanding to the point the four of us were having a little taste of each others. We were so impressed by the food we went back on our last night. We all chose something different from the first night and again completely faultless. It left you with a feeling that you just wanted to package up the pub and move it back home. The service and staff were as perfect as the food. There are so many places to eat in Bath but boy oh boy you have to try this one!!!!!!!!!!

“Great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

Stumbled across a sign on the canal for the hop pole inn on a recent barge holiday with friends. Just 5 mins walk from the canal, this pubs serves excellent quality food with great service. We had a selection of starters washed down with a pint of cider. Would definitely return if in the area.

“Great Pub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Lovely pub, good food. My only gripe was sitting outside in the garden on a sunny week day, there was the lingering smell fag buts whilst you ate. The garden could do with an extra sweep up in the morning after busy summer evenings.

Thank you very much for your feedback and rating - it is always important for us to ensure you enjoy your time with us.

Also, thank you for the feedback in regards to the garden. This time of year is always busy for us but it is no excuse for standards slipping. We will certainly be addressing the points you have raiased and will ensure our own high standards are maintained.

We hope to see you again!

“Thanks for a fun Bathtime”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Last year it was a family reunion for 30+ people of all ages. This time it was a big birthday with all our children, spouses and grandchildren. Both events were staged at The Hop Pole, whose able young staff looked after us, served us delicious lunches and perfect Bath Ales beers with efficiency, jollity, attentiveness and relaxed good manners. Their pleasingly designed eating room was given over to us, while the children loved the entirely sfae garden in the heart of the pub. A lesson to other pubs!

“Best pub in Bath!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Another wonderful visit to The Hop Pole. This is our favourite pub in Bath. The staff are friendly and warm, the food is superb and homemade especially the blue cheese dumplings and there is a great selection of real ales and wine.

Many thanks for your kind words - we're honoured you hold us in such high regard!

The blue cheese potato dumplings are certainly a favourite on this menu. They're loved by veggies and meat-eaters alike!

Thank you once more and we hope to see you again soon.
