“Return visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

I came across Woods on a previous visit to Bath and really enjoyed it. So when the opportunity arose I visited this fine restaurant again. The menu is small but well selected, prepared and presented with top quality ingredients. I had pork and my companion had duck. Both were excellent. Prices are fine, particularly for the quality of the food and wine. Service is very good and the owner makes a point of speaking with everyone. I have recommended this restaurant to others who have had a similar experience to mine. I will be back.

“Business Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

Lovely restaurant and excellent food. I was there with a large party who took over the entire restaurant. 78 covers and the kitchen staff handled it well supported by a good team of waiters/waitresses.

I would imagine this is a lovely place to visit as a couple or with friends as the place has character and charm.

Will certainly go back at next opportunity with slightly smaller party !

“Great 2 course lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

We tried Woods on recommendation from a friend. It didn't disappoint. Friendly service and a very well prepared and well presented 2 course lunch for £18.95. The bar / bistro bit looks a bit shabby, but the restaurant was light and fresh. Well worth a visit.

“Amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

This is a truely lovely resturant situated just on the edge of the town centre. The food is divine but expensive, however worth it.

“Refreshingly old fashioned - and I don't mean retro”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

Have been meaning to try out Woods for ages but the newer Bath places which shout louder for your attention have been winning out recently. I'm glad that we finally got round to giving Woods a go though as it does make a nice change to the new upstarts. It's definitely not the most plush but it's kinda classy (old money rather than new if you can excuse the crass metaphor). Food was simply prepared but very pleasant (when we visited they were having a fish season and I had a skate wing which i've never tried before) and service was polite and understated. Next time we visit i'm hoping that the piano player will be around as that would add a nice touch. In summary, there's a reason why Woods have been around forever and you get the feeling they'll still be there when many of the newbies will be a distant memory.
