“A birthday to remember!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

I visited The Richmond just under 2 weeks ago with my family to celebrate my 40th. What a fantastic evening, fantastic food, great prices and a garden to setting to die for! Well worth the short taxi trip from the city centre, we will return soon.

“Mr D Newton”

A wonderful welcoming and intimate pub, serving excellent food in an informal setting. We ate early evening on an outside table and had some of the best fish and chips we had ever eaten. Very good value for money.

“Bath's best kept secret!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

This is not the first time I have had a fantastic evening at The Richmond. However having not visited after the chef departed 6 months ago, I was straight up there when I heard of his return. Great pub classics at very reasonable prices. If you have not been yet then you really must, a joy to behold! Welcome back Chef!

“Best kept secret gastropub”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Sunday lunch at the Richmond, which is a short but steep walk up through the woods from Camden in Bath. We've been a few times since the local news reported that it was nearly converted back into a house - always good food, friendly staff and snappy service. But so QUIET! On the hottest weekend of the year there weren't many people in the garden, even though it's a sun trap with shady spots. The pub is properly off the beaten track though, on a quiet residential street.

The menu is simple with 2 courses £16 and 3 for £20 - a Sunday Roast and some traditional gastro pub options. I ordered a pickled ham hock starter and went for the fish and chips to follow. Good to see Caesar Salad as a main course on a sunny afternoon, which was chosen by several in our party. Empty plates all round - delicious. Will definitely go back soon.

“Outstanding food, a must to experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

Wow what a meal! Fantastic choice on the menu, 3 starters, 4 mains & 3 deserts which is a good sign of success not too many to choose but all quality £20 for 3 courses or £16 for 2 courses. my husband had beautiful mackerel starter, rib eye steak cooked to perfection followed by cheese cake with the most wonderful chocolate sorbet. I had the salmon dish which was delicious. The chefs Ross & Lewis are clearly the most experienced in the business. We will definitely be back. Enjoyed good wine in the garden & our two dogs were most welcome.
