Great B and B come hotel.
This place is one of well worth the 5 start AA rating it has.
The individual rooms are all fantastic.
The staff are attentive but bit in your face.

You will not be dissapointed.

The price per night for a room in this hotel is not cheap, so at the very least I was expecting some form of spa facilities, nice food, and a pleasant bathroom. What myself and my companion experienced for the last few days is perhaps the perfect hotel experience.

From the warm, personal welcome that made our visit feel like a homecoming, through to the almost tearful goodbye, we never had a qualm about the decision to stay at The Residence.

A guided tour of the premises put us right at home, and then we were left to explore the gorgeous King Room. I won't bother describing it - for once a hotel's website photos are accurate!

We opted to stay for dinner on the Friday night, and were treated to five courses (including the pre-starter and pre-dessert) of heavenly food, prepared in an open kitchen, Aga-and-all, right under our noses.

We sampled the Holistic therapies and the modern steam room. Both were fantastic, and brought us to a level of relaxation that we have missed for so long on trips away.

Breakfast was beautiful. I sampled the Eggs Benedict and Scrambled Eggs with Salmon during our stay. Both were exquisite, and who would ever think of using an adjective like that to describe breakfast?

The rear garden feels like it is your own and you genuinely feel like friends are about to pop their head round the corner at any moment.

Thank you, The Residence, you made the weekend.

We stayed in the penthouse room for the weekend and can honestly say that we could not fault anything.
Outstanding attention to detail, friendly and helpful staff and the food wonderful. We particularly liked the casual, easy going approach within elegant surroundings.
We will be back.

As all reviews written.,this place is superb!!
As soon as you walk through the door you are made to feel welcome ......I stayed in the Attic which looks over the garden which as decribes has a summer house, outside trampoline, summer beds and a pristine garden. If you can eat at the restaurant with an open plan kitchen so you can see the chefs at work...it certainly opens your eyes as its art at work!! BUT the food too is totally exqusite , as the chef makes his own bread and sorbet....etc...etc...i would think everything on the menu would be worth trying!!! Anyway..will definately return and 10 minutes walk from Bath City centre is well worth the trip.
Oh..dont forget to return through the park in the evening and watch hot-air balloons launch themselves in to the dusk.
Highly highly recommended...but dont tell TOO many people...like it as exclusive as poss!!!

A lovely hotel, beautiful character rooms, lovely staff and very relaxing. We stayed in the Emporer's room which had its own living room with two large fire places , plasma tv, lovely furniture and beautiful bathrooms. Would definetly recommend this hotel. Much warmer and cosier then some of the larger hotels we have stayed which can be very stuffy.
