During our recent two-week vacation in the UK, we had some very unsatisfactory experiences at both B&B and major hotel chains, until we arrived at the Chestnuts House in Bath. We recommend the Chestnuts House to travelers looking for a B&B that is a quick walk to the center of town, yet is on a lovely, quiet street. While from the outside the B&B is rather unassuming, our room was very pleasant, well appointed and had very comfortable beds. Beverly and Valerie, on staff, were very friendly and attentive, and their full breakfast rivaled the menu of a high quality hotel. We had had very poor weather throughout our vacation; however, our accommodations in Bath were one of the bright spots, and we would strongly recommend the Chestnuts House.

“Spot on and Spotless”

Chestnuts House

Me and My Husband stayed here for a 2 night midweek break and it was just as the other reviews said it was. We stayed in Room 1 and it was lovely, the only downside for us was the road noise but we do live in a really quiet cul de sac at home. It had everything you would expect from a 5 star place and it was spotless. Breakfast was fantastic with loads of choice and cooked to order with freshley made tea and coffee.

We parked our car at the B&B and never moved it in the 2 days we stayed as it is only a 5 min walk to the centre of Bath and there is soooooo much to do and great places to eat. On our 1st night we went to The Pump House and had a 3 course meal with a bottle of wine and coffee and it came to £70 with the tip so great value we thought. The 2nd night we went to Yak Yeti Tak which is Nepalese and it was one of the nicesest places we have been to in ages. We had 3 courses and a bottle of wine and that was even better at £60 with the tip and the staff are very helpful when you are not sure what to order.

If you want to go to the Therma Spa mention it at the B&B and they provides a Bag with towels, robes and slippers for £3 per head whereas the Spa charges £9 per head and he also has tickets so you dont have to queue and it is added to your bill for when you leave.

We will definately go back for more.

We couldn't have been happier with our accomodations at Chestnuts House in Bath. Nothing was too much trouble for Toni, our host, who gave us terrific advice on sightseeing and dining. Our ground floor room was spotless, well-appointed, and quiet. The breakfast was as good as any you'd find at a 5-star hotel. The location of the B&B was superb: neither in the middle of the Bath hubbub, nor too far away to stroll back and forth to town a couple times a day. If we're ever fortunate enough to visit Bath again, our first choice for accomodations will be Chestnuts House.
