“Little Gem”

Three Abbey Green

Feb 25, 2008

I have stayed at Three Abbey Green twice now and am already planning another trip! Having visited Bath as a lone traveller previously and stayed in another Hotel which I thought would be suitable and welcoming I was highly disappointed (with the hotel - not Bath). To be honest it nearly put me off returning to the beautiful city but I looked around and stumbled on this little gem of a B&B. I cannot recommend it highly enough, I always stock up on leaflets when I go to hand out to friends!
As a lone traveller it come sometimes feel awkward staying in B&B's and not always safe but I felt at ease immeadiately, its almost like a home from home in Bath.
Derek, Sue & Nicki are absolutely lovely and very welcoming and will go out of their way for their guests. The breakfast is good and as a vegetarian I found there was plenty of options for me.
I will only stay at this B&B when I am in Bath and would recommend that you do too, you won't regret it.

“Favorite Place to Stay in Bath”

Three Abbey Green

We've stayed at this hotel twice and have a reservation for this September. Derek, Sue, and Nici are terrific and run a fabulous hotel! The place is really clean and well-taken care of. The location couldn't be any better. We love it and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bath!

We found Three Abbey Green on Rick Steves' website and we were very pleased with the accuracy of his description and appropriate rating. We were traveling with two children, ages 4 and 9, and finding accommodations that allowed children was challenging, as was finding the right floor plan and room arrangement. Three Abbey Green was an excellent choice. We walked from the train station to the inn, we walked into town, and we had a short walk to the river Avon. This was particularly useful as with children it's helpful to have attractions and activities in the near vicinity of our lodging so we could pop back in for a break during the day and be close to restaurants at dinnertime. The room we stayed in our first night was perfect, a king bed, a single, and in an adjoining alcove, a single for our son. The breakfast was hearty and nicely prepared and the innkeeper friendly and helpful. He steered us to a terrific touring company to Stonehenge that was well-suited to our family's interests. This inn was a "find" and the only surprise was that the town of Bath is home to screeching seagulls who nest on the rooftops. This would not suit a light-sleeper.

Generally no matter how hard we try, when we arrive at the accomodation that we've booked, there is an element of disappointment.
I'm pleased to say that was not the case with Three Abbey Green. It couldn't be in a more perfect position, right in the centre, next to the Abbey, Roman Baths and New Spa, yet not at all noisy. A quiet oasis right in the heart of where you want to be. We were greeted at the door by Sue who showed us to a delightful room on the top floor. The whole of Three Abbey Green is beautifully maintained, clean, fresh and sympathetically decorated in keeping with the buildings period. The breakfast room is light and airy and breakfast itself was cooked to order and excellent.
Three Abbey Green is excellent value for money and we would thoroughly reccomend it for anyone staying in Bath.

The Three Abbey Green was recommended in the Rick Steves guide and has never steered me wrong in Europe. The Bed & Breakfast "Three Abbey Green" did not have two rooms for all 6 nights we required, but Sue & Derek (owners) told me they had two bedroom/two bath flats. WOW!!! I was concerned at first about privacy, but the flat was large enough to give each person his own space and creature comforts were awesome. The flat had everything to include a washer/dryer and out of this world coffee maker. It was like walking into a new home - immaculate. The views of the Catholic Church and green hills of Bath were great. Location for business/military travelers or tourists cannot be beat. Sue & Derek are gracias hosts. Sue, Derek, and staff take great care of you at Abbey Heights or Three Abbey Green.
