Description: Bath Good Food Awards 2013 - "Best Newcomer".In Naples, 'Yammo!' means 'Let's go...' That's what made it the perfect name for our first family-run diner. Inspired by Neapolitan roots and our shared love of everything Italian, we started Yammo! with one simple aim: to offer great-tasting Napolitan street-style food and Italian favourites to eat-in, or take away. Don't expect to see fancy restaurant decor here, in true Napolitan style simplicity rules! Do expect Neapolitan-style hospitality and an informal, friendly atmosphere where the food is always the star of the show! We source the best local ingredients and everything on our menu is lovingly prepared by us, right here on the premises. We can't wait to see you, and we hope that you enjoy our food as much as we do! Ci vediamo presto! Dani & Ellen

“Can't rave about Yammo enough! Love love love it!”

My new favourite place to eat in Bath!
The restaurant looked busy busy from the outside so thought we must give it a try, as we walked in staff informed us it would be a 20 minute wait for a table but if we liked we could grab a seat at the bar and have a cocktail or two as we waited! We started with two of the special cocktails that were so tasty, I think they were made of gin, passion fruit and something really green and sweet! 20 minutes later we were sat at our table! I had the special lasagne, wild boar and venison, it was one of the best lasagnes I've ever tasted! My friend had the chicken burger, she said it was perfectly cooked, obviously a lovely piece of chicken, not like a KFC as mentioned below! The bun was filled with coleslaw and lush green salad! It looked great and tasted great too! For desert we had tiramisu, to die for! As we asked for our bill some complementary limoncello was offered to us! Such a great touch and really made out evening perfect! The staff were so friendly an really couldn't do enough for us! The whole restaurant had such a nice atmosphere and tables were even talking to each other, like it was a social night or something! Can't rave about yammo enough!

“Best rice balls I've had outside Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

We visited here based on the reviews and we weren't disappointed! It was a Thursday night and we were the only people in but we didn't feel rushed at all. We shared a pizza and a Caesar salad and the owner laid it all out for us like a buffet. Lovely food, would definitely recommend!

“Deliciously different”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Okay, granted, an Italian restaurant serving Margherita pizza isn't all that different, but other than pizzas the menu was pleasantly unique - and the quality of ingredients used made even that most staple of menu items fantastic.

We reserved a table at Yammo for lunch on a busy Saturday when we visited Bath for the Christmas markets. The food is fantastic and everything is made in-house, which is such a nice treat compared to the big mass-produced chains like Ask and Pizza Express. The mozzarella sticks and cheesy potato croquettes are clearly home made, and very delicious. For my main I had the veggie burger, which was a nice chance from usual mushroom or bean burgers, and the oodles of pine nuts were particularly nice. I wasn't overly fussed on the smoky tomato sauce, but that's a matter of personal preference than quality. The rest of our group had pizzas or calzones, which they raved about. From the bits I tried you could tell this was Italian cooking done right - simple, high quality ingredients. I didn't personally try the desserts, but those who did thought they were worth going back for as well...I thought the same of the limoncello.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in Bath and want to try something a bit different, and something that isn't part of a chain.

“A brief visit to authentic Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

On a very cold day in Bath, the Yammo provided us with comfort, sustenance and friendliness. We were greeted cheerfully on arrival and given a choice of tables. Despite the English salutation, it was like stepping into a Neapolitan cafe restaurant. There was a total lack of pretension and the emphasis was on the quality of the food with its local sourcing, the skill of the cooking and creating an ambiance where one felt comfortably relaxed. The waitress seemed to enjoy her work and the owner was very willing to talk to us. We encouraged him to tell us about Naples, his family, the ways in which he tried to make the restaurant authentically Italian and the food special, an award the Yammo! had won in a very competitive market and even the effects of the Risorgimento.

The pizzas were very delicious and, quite properly, the wine came in tumblers. The coffee was exceptional.

We only wanted a light lunch but we are certainly tempted to return when we are next in Bath in order to do the menu more justice. The atmosphere made us forget the bitter wind outside and the crowds of shoppers. We had been on a brief visit to an English-speaking enclave of Italy.
