“The Best of Both Worlds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

My teenage daughter and I just had a wonderful stay at Beckfords  View. This is the first time I've experienced the best of both worlds... the personal, homey feel of a B&B and luxury on par with some 5* hotels I've stayed in.  The same can be said of it's location.  Bath city centre was easily accessible yet we were just far enough away for it to feel peaceful.  We enjoyed our walk down the hill to dinner and took a short taxi back afterwards.

The other reviewers have already thoroughly and accurately described what to expect from the accommodation. I would just add that I highly recommend viewing their website as I can confirm that this place is as pretty and inviting as the pictures.  Also, you can see all the rooms (and their en suites) so you know exactly what you're getting when you book!

Staying here was a delightful treat so I would definitely recommend it! I also can't imagine meeting owners more committed to making your stay perfect than Helen and Mark.

This happened to be right next to the Hare and Hound where we were due to be that evening hence why we booked to stay here. We were wonderfully surprised as the house, set back from the road, was large, bright, new, fresh, and tasteful and the owners have thought of the smallest detail which really makes all the difference. This includes fresh milk in the room, chocolates, shortbread, the linen was top quality, the bed extremely comfortable, good pressure shower and hot! We stayed in a room at the front of the house overlooking the drive and trees but the rooms at the back of the house overlook a beautifully kept garden and far reaching views of the Bath countryside and valley. It’s a long walk into the centre of Bath down the hill or a short £6.00 taxi ride. It was lovely to feel that you were so close to all the action but in a quiet spot just outside. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and keen to help and the breakfast was fresh, excellent ingredients and plentiful. I would definitely go back

Room Tip: the rooms at the back are quieter and have beautiful views.

Everything has already been said but we too had a perfect stay and felt spoilt and indulged. The walk into Bath is lovely and the bus back superb! Eat at least once (we made it twice) at the Fox & Hounds - just a few metres down the road - and your weekend is sorted. There's even Apple TV! There can't be a better place to stay in Bath and you'll sleep so soundly and awake to a delicious breakfast.

By far the most outstanding B&B we have ever stayed in. Everything was perfect, and all fittings and furnishings were of the highest quality, and in the best taste. There were so many extra little touches that proved that the owners really care about giving the very best to their visitors. Fresh flowers on the windowsill, home made shortbread biscuits, the softest most comfortable bed in the world, and attention to detail in every aspect of the room. Sheer luxury! Mark and Helen couldn't have been more friendly of helpful. Breakfast was wonderful! It was an absolute pleasure to stay there, and we would be delighted to be able to return some day. We would recommend this lovely B&B to anyone who appreciates quality and style, with genuinely friendly and very likeable hosts.

Wonderful - could not find fault with our experience. This is a brand new house. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful. When we arrived, we were late for a lunch reservation and Mark insisted on driving us into town to save us getting the bus. The room was absolutely beautiful - modern, stylish décor, top quality furnishings, state of the art technology (we logged into our Blinkbox and Love Film accounts), and spotlessly clean. When we got back to the house, Helen had put our champagne in the fridge to chill (birthday celebration!), and put fresh strawberries and champagne glasses in our room! The small details like the home-made shortbread and fresh flowers in the room were the icing on the cake. The breakfast menu was really varied, and all made with fresh ingredients - truly delicious! Beforehand we thought it seemed quite expensive for a bed and breakfast, but it was worth every penny - and is superior to many hotels. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others.

Having checked out of a well known 5 star hotel earlier in the day and totally underwhelmed by it and the high prices we paid , our expectations of finding something special at such short notice on a bank holiday weekend were low. So imagine our delight when we found Beckfords View with a friendly welcome and quality accommodation that I haven't seen in a long time! The attention to detail here is unrivalled , from the quality mattress and bedding to the freshly made cookies and offer of refreshing tea when we arrived. We couldn't fault this B&B and actually it's more like a 5 star boutique hotel . The hosts , Mark and Helen are so friendly and warm and nothing was too much trouble for them . As if we weren't impressed enough , the breakfast the next morning that they prepared for us was absolutely scrumptious and set us up for the day ahead. We will definitely go back for more the next time we visit Bath and would recommend this beautiful B&B to everyone. It's a real gem and a genuinely great find.

Was my girlfriends birthday so thought a special weekend was in order. All though it seems expensive for just one night I can honestly say it's perfect. The room was so special not one dust particle , the towels were thick heavy quality , the bath robes were something else and well the bed !? Where do I start?? Was like a bed of feathers mixed with stuff you can't even describe or imagine!! The attention to detail was stupendous from them home made shortbread bunnies to the real life wilf rabbit in his own abode. The breakfast was outstanding with fresh homemade muesli, freshly squeezed orange juice and a full English , the breakfast was just right , not overpowering but fresh amazing quality ingredients! Not only this but a Pleasant smile from Helen and a strong welcoming handshake from mark ! My mrs said wilf was so cute she wanted to cuddle him!! Honestly take it from me you will not be disappointed and if you are you need to see some one! Thank you so much for making our weekend perfect it is so appreciated.
James and Rachel.
