“Slow service.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Came in here on a wet February Saturday lunch time. The place was empty. Ordered a couple of curried parsnip soups and had a drink. The pub had an open fire and sport on the TV. As the place was empty I thought that the soup would not be long in coming, however we had to wait twenty minutes. To be fair the soup and roll was good.

“Fabulous food every time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

Love this pub! Great wines and ales, and the food is amazingly good. Have eaten here a few times recently, but I have yet to try their Sunday lunch, which I've heard is one of the best in town! Friendly staff with a cosy fireplace! Great garden in the summertime too! I will be back soon!

“Good Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

Visited on a wet Sunsat lunch time, so did not investigate the garden. Very good roast pork, although the crackling was a bit tough, with plenty of varied vegetables. Good range of beers and other drinks. Most of the other customers were groups of families and friends, comprising both residents and weekend visitors. Service was fine, friendly but not overdone. Others referred to ts convenience to the Rec for rugby spectators, I noticed a matchday menu from the previos day on a shelf behind the bar, but we found it equally convenient between visits to the Holboune and the Victoria Art Gallery.

“A great recommendation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

My friend and I were looking for a "Fish and Chips" lunch, when sightseeing in Bath. A gentleman who gives river trips recommended the Rising Sun Inn, and even showed us the way to reach it. We had a most pleasant lunch in the garden, on a beautiful, warm day. The fish and chips and the glass of wine were delicious!

Had a great chicken and leek pie, a very quiet place with friendly personal service from the owners wife.
