“Excellent venue, varied menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

We just popped in for lunch today, and were most pleasantly surprised, friendly staff, varied menu and excellent service, maybe slightly pricey, but the location is fantastic, right by the Abbey and Baths.

“Could have been 5..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Popped in for morning coffee and cake. The latte and americano were amazing. The carrot cake was to die for and would happily eat that every day! The only let down was slightly slow service but staff friendly though.

A bit barren in atmosphere , service friendly and on the ball, food selection not bad, more for the older customer or tourist lol, average wine list, but a good lunch time stop off.

“Don’t bother”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

My Mum and I visited during a day out. This restaurant has different areas and we were taken around past the nice seating and given a tiny round wobbly table next to the bar. I asked if there was anywhere else but it was busy. The waitress wiped the table and managed to squirt table cleaner all over the menus, but did sort the wobble by putting something under the table. The drinks turned up after about 10 minutes and the food, which was OK, 20 minutes after that. My Mum had to shout at the waiter to get his attention as there was no butter provided with the bread, no-one offered any salt pepper or sauces and once we had finished we sat around for a while and then I just got up from the table which had not been cleared and paid at the bar. I did not leave a tip, which is the first time I have ever not left something. Don’t get me wrong, everyone is friendly enough, but up to 4 people provided the table, drinks and food and this may be where it is going wrong. Come on Bath, we should be offering our tourists a better experience than this, as well as looking after those that live in the area. This meal was supposed to be a late birthday treat for my Mum, and I was really cross that some slapdash service spoiled it.

“Surprisingly good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

We visited this restaurant on a day trip to bath because of the proximity to the Roman Baths Museum (10 second walk from restaurant). We were a bit unsure at first as we thought it would be very average and touristy - but we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted with a warm welcome and were seated upstairs (there are three floors so plenty of room). We had great service from all the staff and the waiter was very attentive. The food couldn't be faulted, it was delivered pretty quickly at the right temperature and the portion sizes are perfect. Their steaks and sandwiches were particularly good, amazing deserts too!

Tip: IF YOURE GOING TO THE MUSEUM BEFOREHAND, GRAB A 15% OFF VOUCHER FOR THIS RESTAURANT WHEN YOU BUY YOUR TICKETS!

Overall, good quality food in a great location and we would definitely return as a family if we are in the city again.
