Brasserie Blanc is a 116-seater Brasserie with a simple, stylish interior with wooden floors, banquette seating and artwork from renowned artist, Jenny Muncaster. On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly, knowledgeable team and the lively ambience is complemented by a menu inspired by the simple, hearty dishes of M. Blanc’s childhood. Alongside an appetising à la carte menu and carefully selected wine list it offers an excellent value set menu and on Sundays it serves a classic roast with all the trimmings. Younger diners can choose from a special children’s menu or order a half sized portion of many of the à la carte dishes on offer.Whether you are looking for a simple lunch, a romantic dinner or a family celebration it is the perfect choice!

“Lived up to relatively high expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Coming out of the theatre at about 5pm on a Sunday, we were starving and decided, at my request, to eat rather than go home and cook. I was pleasantly surprised that Brasserie Blanc serves food, including Sunday roast, all day and at reasonable prices.

There was a lot to choose from both food and wine wise that all looked very tempting, but in the end we both went for roast beef. We shared a carafe of red - anywhere that serves wine by the 50cl carafe gets a gold star from me - it's really handy if one person is driving and can only have a small amount.

Everything arrived quite quickly as the restaurant was quiet and the food was great. I was in two minds what to expect from a famous chef, "dumbed down" to a chain, but in the event every different thing on the plate was a pleasure in its own right, which isn't always the case with restaurant roasts. The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout and the meal was good value, comparing pretty favourably to a good pub roast both on quality and cost (the set menus generally look very reasonable and the a la carte less so as you'd expect, albeit not too pricey).

I would have two very minor criticisms. Firstly, I think we both could have eaten a little more potato and beef (sadly there was nothing that caught our eye on the dessert menu!) and secondly, being able to hear the background music with only a few tables occupied, it was really repetitive! Other than that, I can't fault it - La Flambe would always be my first choice in the area for a great, good value lunch, but Brasserie Blanc was definitely right up there. We'll definitely be back.

“Mid afternoon on a Saturday.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Just had a great Saturday casual lunch. Good value on the set menu, restaurant was a little quiet being 3.30 on a Saturday but that wasn't a problem! Tristan was a great host being very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the restaurant and Blanc chain. Brilliant lunchtime dining experiance in exquisite surroundings.

“Distinctly average.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

So we decided to book a table on a Saturday night, we were not expecting too much due to the average pricing and the look of the menu which gives you the impression of standardization across a chain or restaurants.

The staff were very welcoming and very efficient.

The food however was very average, I had steak tatare to start and was well put together. However our mains were not particularly good, the steak was of good quality but the vegetables had no seasoning and were very sloppy, my partners lamb sauce was very watery and slopped of the plate.

When looking around at other tables deserts we decided against it as they looked like "mum had gone to Iceland" and did not look appealing.

The value of the meal was OK and prices suited the food. Average.

“Late lunch perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Looking for lunch food at 3.00pm is often difficult and we were delighted to stumble on a Blanc Brasserie which we did not know had opened in Bath.
The situation and setting are perfect and even although late the restaurant was still 80% full and had lots of atmosphere.
My wife had 3 courses from the lunch menu which were all excellent and I had 3 course from the normal menu which were equally stunning especially the steak tartare starter.
Service as you would expect was excellent and the best value lunch we have enjoyed in along time.
Looking forward to our next visit.
