We stayed here for one night on a weekend trip to Bath in January.
It was the only time we stayed in a hostel for our trip, so I cannot compare it to other hostels, but we chose it because of the price (25 pounds/person/night), as Bath accomodation can be quite expensive for what it is.

Positives:
*We got our own room, a two person room up the top of the inn, so we didn't have to share.
*Excellent location, right near the centre. Bath isn't particularly big anyway, but this made it very easy to walk anywhere we wanted to go.
*Our room was small but was warm and had nice thick bedding in bright colours.
*The girl we first spoke to on arrival was lovely, and very helpful in telling us places to see and day trips to other towns/attractions that were on offer. She also recommended the free walking tour, which happens daily and is excellent- we wouldn't have known about it otherwise.
*The pub below has well-priced drinks and good meals- nothing fancy but well priced, and with discounts if you are staying there.

Not so good:
*The shared bathrooms next to our rooms were not very inviting, I avoided using the shower at all costs and the pipes were very loud.
*While the first staff member we dealt with was lovely and very helpful, others were quite surly and rude. However, the place is aimed at backpackers and young travellers, and the staff are usually travellers themselves so the turnover is quite high and no doubt there will be different people there in a couple of months' time.
*Breakfast is nothing flashy, just cereal, milk, bread, a toaster, and coffee. However for that price it is good that there is even a breakfast on offer.

I would recommend this place for any backpackers, students, or budget travellers- Bath can be very expensive to stay in so for location, good rates, and a good night's sleep you can't go past this hostel.
