“Feels like home”

Cheriton House

May 28, 2008

John and Iris are wonderful hosts. They were extremely accommodating. The house and grounds are beautifully kept. They had the best full English breakfast on our trip. Great coffee! Everything was perfect. If ever we should make it back to Bath, no doubt we will stay with John and Iris in their beautiful home at Cheriton House. Thank you!

“Lovely B&B”

Cheriton House

Apr 7, 2008

Just returned from a one night stay in Bath. The Cheriton House was booked the night before and we got a lovely room on the top floor. new Sky light windows had recently been added so the room was extremley light and the views where wonderful. The bathroom had a large double shower and the bed ensured a great nights sleep. The location is excellent with a 10 minute walk into town.
The breakfast on the Sunday was a prefect start to the day.. fantastic choice of cereals, fresh fruit and cooked breakfast.
Overall would reccomend.

John and Iris were extremely welcoming. I was doing research at the local American Museum in Britain. After a really comfortable night's sleep, and a huge breakfast (of almost American proportions), John even gave me a ride up to the museum when my taxi failed to arrive. So, can't recommend the place enough!

For our last night in our tour of the Midlands, we stayed at Cheriton House. The grounds and rooms are lovely; very clean with everything you would expect of a 5 star B&B. Our room, at the front of the building had a spectacular view of the valley below; we could even watch the hot air balloons taking off and landing! The room size is larger than average and the en suite bath was very large and bright. Breakfast was perfect, served in the solarium, with an extensive selection of fresh fruit, cereals or traditional english. However, when it came time to check out, our host refused to keep our luggage while we toured about town. Granted, Sunday is the one day the family absolves itself from hosting duties but the tone and delivery of the message completely soured what would have been an excellent rating.

We stayed here for just one night in early April and really enjoyed our stay. We were referred by the Information center in Bath and were very pleased with the room and the breakfast.

We stayed in Rosie's room which was quite large and luckily on the first floor (this was nice with our large suitcases). The room was nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. Perhaps the best part for my husband was the wi-fi connection.

The hotel is a good way up the hill so it was an easy walk down but a bit more challenging on the return trip. After a very large and very wonderful dinner at Tilly's (I highly recommend this restaurant) the walk back was a good chance to walk off dinner.

While we didn't see the appeal often written about in Bath, the Cheriton House was a great place to stay. I would recommend this to friends.
