This being my first trip out of the US. I was surprised at the types of accomodations offered in and around Bath, England. It is a tourist town with beautiful old homes to stay in for a price.
Being on a budget while still wanting to visit my daughter who was attending a semester in Bath, I found the Edgar Hotel here on TripAdvsior.com. Well priced and included a full English breakfast daily, I obtained a room with private bath. I have uploaded photos already but they are not attached to this review.
The room was large by European standards with a queen sized bed, desk area, TV, large closet and full private bathroom and shower. While I was there, it was quiet and very pleasant. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The weather in Bath for my stay was unseasonably warm (70's F) so the room was also a little warm but not bad with an open window.
The staff were helpful and polite. The dining area is very small with about 8 tables which would sit two comfortably. The food was served hot and came with an assortment of jams and jellys for your toast. Milk, cereal, fruits and juice were available on a small buffet.
The location of the Edgar hotel is excellent. A five minute walk takes you to the heart of Bath for wonderful shopping, excellent pubs and restaurants and to see the famous Roman baths for which the city is named after. You can walk to the train station but it's a hike with luggage. There are many cabs available and the staff will call one for you.
If I am ever in Bath again, I would not hesitate to stay here. The price, location, room and the hot breakfast made for a very pleasant experience.
