“Fawlty towers without the humour”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

Great idea but staff were appalling with exception of young guy on the door who did a sterling job sending people who could not get in to their sister restaurant round the corner. In any other town they would have no trade. Or were sat afternoon customers a surprise

“Very pretty Tea Shoppe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Gorgeous little place with lots of character, beautiful china and the most gorgeous cups and saucers! It is a nice place to relax and have some tea and cake, and has a very English feel to it. The people there were very friendly. A bit pricey for a cup of tea and cake, but the sort of price one would expect from Bath. I would definitely visit again though. The apple crumble was scrumptious, although it as served with Ambrosia I believe, and I did expect the custard to be home-made. The Green Tea with Mango was also lovely.

“I love this place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

I went to The Bath Bun Tea Shoppe today. I must admit this is probably the best tea shop I have ever, yes ever been in (and there has been a few over the years). Service swift and friendly, excellent food at reasonable prices. Great selection of tea's and the most scrumptious cakes ever. A most enjoyable day out made further more pleasant by this lovely place. First class. A+++++

“Could & Should Be Better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Great location and in fairness a great welcome from a member of staff who happened to be in the entrance. He showed us upstairs where a waitress showed us to a table, brought us menus and was generally very pleasent. From then on however, it all went downhill! Despite sitting at a table in the middle of the upstairs area, we waited a further 20 minutes for our order to be taken - not so bad if 3 other tables around us, all of who arrived later, had their orders taken earlier and despite being told by different staff members that they "would be with us shortly" When our food finally arrived it was average at best, but this of course is subjective and after 45 minutes waiting for sandwiches, I confess we were not seeing the positives! Poor service usually comes from poor training and always shows. It was not overly busy and there is simply no excuse for being made to feel uncomfortable. A city such as Bath obviously has much competion for eating and drinking and no estblishment can rely on it's location or enticing name, particularly in the current climate.
