when you are looking for b+b signs on the streets, it's often very hard to find anything. this time we thought we were lucky. we got the room above the tiny pub, well, super to pop down for a pint but not so good if you wanna get some sleep. the room was a bit worn, the bathroom looked the same. when we got into the room our eyes went straight to the little table which was laid for breakfast. we thought: wow, they serve breakfast up here? - well, sort of. you serve it to yourself. you geet a plastic box with some digestive cookies, some crisp bread, 4 or 5 packs of jam, tea/coffee, sugar, 4 mini-boxes of muesli/cornflakes and some butter and a drop of milk. pop down to the supermarket and get some milk, bread and yoghurt, then you'll enjoy it!
ok, so you don't have to get dressed to enjoy your breakfast. there is a kind of balcony outside the window, but you got no door to enter it. the pub music is rather loud and there is a street lamp shining all night right in front of your window. the pub closed at midnight, ok, some time for sleeping left. next day we dragged the mini-table and the 2 chairs out of the window and climbed through to have breakfast on the balcony overlooking the roundabout. we got some envy looks from some people driving by, but we had a nice time. ok, if the roundabout-balcony wouldn't have been there it would have been a dull time. oh, and you gotta park your car in the street, no parking space included! when we wanted to pay for the room the next day we had to call the phone number leaning in the pub-window, cos nobody answered knocking on various doors. eventually a lady in a dressing gown came down to collect the money..
