“Great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

Stayed at Henrietta house for one night while visiting bath christmas market. The location was great just a 10 minute walk to the abbey.
The room we had was clean and tidy with tea making facilities,it was on the small size but comfortable and seeing we spent so little time in it this wasn't a problem.
Breakfast was great plenty to choose from and although the full English was small you could order
Several if you wanted, they certainly wanted to make sure you had plenty.
I would recommend pre booking parking as this could be a problem in bath.
We found all the the staff very polite and helpful and look forward to staying here again

I was working periodically in Bath over a few months, and stayed several times at Henrietta House, which is a building with great character. The staff were all very friendly, and the rooms spacious and very clean, and the shower was fine in each of the rooms where I stayed. I always slept well and awoke totally refreshed. The only problem with breakfast was having to choose from the splendid menu. Whilst waiting for the main course to be cooked, I helped myself to the fresh baked bread still hot from the oven, fresh fruit salad, and freshly pressed juice of the day (combination of carrot, celery, cucumber) (orange juice and apple juice were also available). Breakfast elements were locally sourced, and very tasy indeed. Croissants and cereals were also available, but there's only so much one can eat! If I am going back to Bath, I look forward to being welcomed back to HH again.

Will stay here again without a doubt. Nice staff, very clean and characterful. Bath is compact and this little place is in a great part of town. Convenient but quiet to ensure a good nights sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast wonderful with individual touches.

We were a family of four and chose the top floor family suite with three rooms and one bathroom. This consisted of a room two twin beds, a room with a large double bed and a sitting room with TV with a comfy and large sofa bed which suited our news perfectly. (Note there is a steep flight of stairs to go up to this room, but this is described on their website.) Home made cookies and apples were left for us to nibble on too as was a jug of water.

I live in Africa and had ordered a very large number of packages of supplies to be delivered and they were all waiting for me in the room upon check in. WIFI was fast throughout the property.

The house is large, airy and tastefully decorated. Despite being consistently full, it is still quiet.

Parking costs GBP 5 a day for a permit and you can easily find parking close to the guest house. Note that the guest house reception closes at 8 PM if you are arriving late so you will need to make arrangements to be let in. (The owners sleep at the property so this shouldn't be too difficult to arrange.) Reception opens again at 7 AM.

As others have noted the breakfasts are fantastic. One of the owners is an Austrian chef and the presentation and taste of the hot dishes is divine. They also make delicious home made croissants, breads, jams, etc. They don't want anyone leaving hungry so you can have as many hot or cold breakfast dishes as you like.

What really makes this place stand out is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, however. From contacting me in advance of my arrival by e-mail to let me know they were keeping my package; to wonderful restaurant recommendations and bookings; sight seeing tips; organizing tea in the drawing room; printing messages from the Internet; storing luggage, etc. We were really sorry they couldn't accommodate us the last night. We moved to the more upmarket McDonald's Hotel & Spa but didn't find it as friendly.

This establishment truly deserves its 5 star rating.

This guest house is so cute, perfect location, just a very short walk to Roman Baths. We drove to the inn parked our car and walked around Bath, did the hop on hop off. So convenient, couldn't have asked for a better place. The breakfast was amazing, rooms nice and clean love the old fashioned shutters on the windows.

Room Tip: Any room is good, quiet street, quiet location.

A friend and I had a one night stay here whilst we spent a couple of days in town for the Christmas Market. The location is excellent, we walked to Henrietta House from the train station and we regularly back and forth into the town centre. Bath is very compact and easy to get around.

We had a twin room, which was very comfortable and cosy. I think I had the best breakfast I've ever eaten at a hotel, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

They were happy to look after our luggage as we arrived early and left late.

I would recommend Henrietta House without exception and would happily stay here again.

We stay in Bath at least once a year and have previously stayed in some of the larger hotels which are pleasant enough but can cost the earth, especially at this time of the year when the Christmas market is on. So, having seen the excellent Tripadvisor ratings for this hotel we booked to stay here and were very pleased we did so.

The building, like so many in Bath, is beautiful and is set in a quiet street 2, perhaps 3, minutes walk from the shops/restaurants. A warm welcome greets you upon arrival and every member of staff we came into contact with was incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 7 which was one of the smaller rooms but was the only one left when we booked but I can honestly say it was just perfect for us.

As other reviewers have mentioned the breakfast is very good - all very tasty and in plentiful supply. I defy anyone to come away hungry!

All in all a really lovely place to stay and we will have absolutely no hesitation in coming back here when we next stay in Bath.
