“Central and classy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights. Loved being able to park the car in the street at an affordable price and just walk down the road into town for the shops and restaurants, or in the opposite direction , go to the Assembly Rooms and Holburne Museum. Really appreciated the little touches like a bottle of filtered tap water (Bath water is horrible!) or home baked biscuits in the room. Excellent and varied choice for breakfast. Only minor complaint is hearing the people in room above walking about. Otherwise would definitely stay here again when coming to Bath and can highly recommend it. .

This hotel is a hidden gem. First class service from all the staff. Attention to detail made the stay fantastic. Breakfast was outstanding and very plentiful. Had the best nights sleep in the whitest sheets I have ever seen!

This hotel is a 10-minute walk from Central Bath, on a quiet street. The room was small and not air conditioned, but otherwise comfortable. We stayed here on a Saturday night during the high season - paid 110 pounds and that included a wonderful breakfast - home made breads, hot dishes cooked to your order, and the menu advised us to order seconds if we were still hungry. The staff was very helpful with restaurant and tour suggestions. Highly recommended - would have given it 5 stars if it were air conditioned..

Three of us stayed here at the end of walking the Cotswold Way as a treat but not that expensive s we shared the 2 bedroom suite on the top floor with its own bathroom and living room. Lovely art and antiques combined with modern facilities throughout. Quiet location athough very central. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast with varied choice and made a refreshing change to have other options to the usual B&B staple.

We stayed here for one night on a Thursday. The room was large, on the ground floor (opposite from check in) and street side. The shower was a wet room which I'm not a fan of (as the whole floor gets wet), but again, it was sizeable. Slight trouble was that we could hear everybody coming in and going, speaking to reception etc but as we went out about 7pm and got back in in the early hours of the morning, it didn't really matter. that said, in the morning, we could hear every step and creak from the floor above. We did unfortunately encounter a scene in the street with very noisy, unruly neighbours which kept us awake most of the time, but that was outside the control of the hotel. All in all, maybe worth trying to get a high floor room, away from the street.

The breakfast though was the best I've ever had at a B&B. Juice (apple and pear) on offer, along with the usual like orange. Homemade jams. A traditional Austrian breakfast was served too, egg (like scrambled), mixed up with bacon, onions with pumpkin seed oil. Not just normal boiled egg with soldiers, but bacon wrapped. Mackerel etc. And the service was great.

Overall, we would stay here again but I would choose a different bedroom.

Room Tip: Not street side, high floor.
