“Comfortable, convenient and great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

As a family party of 12 men we always stay in Bath for the Cheltenham race meeting. Over the past 10 years we have tried a number of places to stay, all of which have proven to be more or less satisfactory. Henrietta House has been the most satisfactory to date and will take some beating. It really is an excellent place to stay. Comfortable rooms, charming staff who are really interested in the guests, location is quiet and convenient, well cooked breakfast (a good choice is available) served by attentive staff. Considering all aspects the cost is very reasonable.

We stayed for 1 night, with friends, at this well placed B&B. Located centrally on the residential side of the River Avon, Henrietta House is a very short walk across the historic Pulteney Bridge to the heart of Bath. It is also well located for a short walk to Bath Rugby Club's 'Rec' grounds.

The House itself is part of a Georgian Terrace, so if you want the authentic Jane Austen experience this is it. The rooms are a good size with ensuite bathrooms - walk in showers rather than baths. Very comfortable beds. Rooms are clean and well kept, but not super modern, which is in keeping with their heritage.

There is a good breakfast, a mixture of buffet and served, using fresh local produce.

Free wi-fi and (paid for) valet parking.

All in all for a short trip to Bath, near perfect.

Henrietta House hosted us for 6 days during the month of February. My friend and I have traveled to London for a theater week for the last 30 years and decided it was time to extend our holiday and see more of our favorite country. Both of us felt our stay at Henrietta House was perfect. The Georgian atmosphere is just what we were looking for. The high ceilings, beautiful wooden bannister and lovely architectural lines spoke to just the tone of the trip. The breakfast was absolutely delightful. The cook is Austrian so there was a wonderful continental flare with fabulous breads, fresh from from the oven each day. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. In a perfect world, I would move in and stay forever!

We stayed here as a family - 6 (grown up!) daughters and our lovely mum in January to celebrate my birthday. We were very warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for the very caring staff. They even parked my sister's car for her in their private car park. Rooms were lovely and very individual and the king size beds were made up with single quilts to accommodate us (as all girls together). The bathrooms were very clean with lovely complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was excellent with a few different choices plus, of course, the traditional English and included a lovely freshly made fruit juice and homemade jams. This is very close to the Thermal Spa which we visited and local restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed 2 nights with friends for the Bath Half Marathon weekend. We were given the opportunity to use their comfortable suite. Excellent in all respects! Will return for a more leisurely stay! Parking not a problem using the Hotel system and breakfast here is to be highly recommended!

Room Tip: All are great!

The staff made you feel very welcome and helpful on arrival, great location short walk to the rec and town centre where there are a great selection of shops and pubs. The rooms are nice and clean plenty of room we stayed in a small double. The breakfast were the best I have had with plenty of choice and could eat as much as you wanted to with a vegetrian option. We love to go back and do some more sight seeing around bath as only there one night.

Only stayed one night in this hotel to meet up with an old friend. The hotel is lovely. Received a very warm welcome from the staff who couldn't have been more accomodating both before and during our stay. Very kind and helpful staff. excellent breakfast.
